LethalStriker
So are they going to have 2 title fights on that Brazil card if Aldo is able to go also?
TheVileOne
It's not like Belfort gets an advantage in Brazil. TRT is banned there now as well, and they are regulated by an athletic commission as well.
Elsalvajeloco
Paul Daley has signed with Bellator. Pettis vs. Melendez will take place on Dec. 6.
Elsalvajeloco
Bellator also signed Melvin Manhoef.
TheVileOne
Didn't Paul Daley already sign with Bellator? He was supposed to be one of their welterweight tournament "rockstars." Then he got into trouble again.
Elsalvajeloco
I saw from someone on Twitter that apparently WSOF thought they had Daley signed. Maybe getting Coker lured him away from them.
TheVileOne
Paul Daley has signed with Bellator. Pettis vs. Melendez will take place on Dec. 6. Pettis will have gone about 16 months without defending the lightweight title. IMHO, that cannot happen again.
epwar
The rerun of the months old Bellator PPV did 250,000 more viewers than the UFC: Cerrone vs. Miller show (890,000 vs. 640,000, respectively).
TheVileOne
Bellator should hire you epwar. Spike TV is in about 10 million more homes than FS1.
Craig H
And of the homes that have FS1, only half know where to find the channel.
LethalStriker
As long as Belfort gets cleared by NSAC prior to fighting in Brazil then I have no problems with it whatsoever.
TheVileOne
Chris Weidman asked for the fight, so he clearly doesn't care at all. Fight is a big payday for him and he knows it.
epwar
UFC: Japan has added Hyun Gyu Lim vs. Takenori Sato Kiichi Kunimoto vs. Rich Walsh. Maximo Blanco vs. Daniel Hooker
Elsalvajeloco
Takenori Sato is going to have one of the saddest UFC/WEC runs in Zuffa history. He will be making a return visit to the hurt locker.
LethalStriker
There'll be a huge size difference between Lim and Sato. Lim is one of the biggest WW's and Sato honestly should be fighting at LW.
Zero
Pettis said on the MMA Hour he's fighting Gil, Dec 6 in Vegas.
LethalStriker
So UFC isn't going to Montreal or Toronto like they were originally planning in the fall?
Elsalvajeloco
Halifax is the only Canadian date left on the schedule.
LethalStriker
So the entire year of 2014 they'll have had 3 events in Canada, in Quebec City, Vancouver and Halifax. Canada is too strong of a market for them to just basically ignore their 2 biggest cities for an entire year.
Elsalvajeloco
They are, but you don't want to mess up those markets because you don't have the stars to go there. Western Canada could be a strong market too, but they screwed up by having weak cards there. Can't afford to do that on the other side of the country. Plus, I'm pretty sure they'll never accept Jon Jones as some sort of adopted son. Time for him to be headlining in Vegas, which he has never done before.
