Jacare vs. Yoel Romero at UFC 184

Looks like Thatch will fight Wonderboy Thompson instead of Rick Story on the Broomfield card

I was really hoping for Jacare/Rockhold 2 but this should be a much easier path for Jacare to get a title shot.

Rockhold gets the Machida/Dollaway winner?

I dunno about that unless Rockhold and the UFC are gung-ho about him getting another fight. If people are convinced that Rockhold is a probable Belfort replacement, then he could feasibly fight for the belt without having another fight.

I think I'm just irrationally a fan of Jacare getting the next shot. Rockhold's Vitor loss slides him behind Jacare for me. Although, that goes directly against my normal ranking theory. So ignore everything I've said, Rockhold makes total sense and I'm an idiot.

From a business standpoint, Jacare would probably make more sense. Even though Bisping and Rockhold built up the fight, it was probably only seen by about 350k-400k people on Fight Pass. No more than maybe half a million if you want to count people streaming it illegally. Jacare smoked Mousasi in front of over one million viewers. Plus, it's easier to promote someone on short notice who has torched everyone in the UFC so far.

My hope is Belfort gets injured and Jacare gets the nod.

Honestly, the way injuries have been happening, booking Jacare and Romero on this card as well is a smart move.  I am only conflicted because I think Jacare should wait a little longer to see how this fight pans out.

Jacare/Rockhold 2 makes no sense right now.  Both guys are potential title contenders.  If they fight now, you run the risk of sacrificing two lucrative, viable contenders.  If the rematch happens it should be after both guys fought for the title or one of them becomes champion.

Tecia/Bec has been my favorite fight on TUF so far. Wild back and forth fight. I have no idea how anyone can think Bec won the fight.

Tecia/Carla is finally happening and is going to be awesome. It was originally going to happen in Invicta FC afrer Tecia beat Felice the 2 had a staredown, but then the UFC purchased most of their strawweight division and it feel through.

Man I like Guillard and I thought the UFC let him go prematurely at the time, but he seems to be justifying why now.

I only feel bad for the guy on the level that a few years ago it looked like he was going to have a huge run and could've fought for the title.  I think he had bad luck here and there, but more often than not, he is the instrument of his own failures.

WSOF is also getting sued by XFC for having booked Kalinda Faria who was under contract with them and didn't even make it to the weigh ins.

Weigh-in results I got yesterday said Faria came in at 114.8 pounds.  As far as I know, fight is still on.

MMA Junkie reported yesterday she no showed, the fight is still on, but they're still getting sued: XFC sues WSOF over Kalindra Faria contract dispute.

The first event on Bellator's 2015 calendar is Bellator 132, which takes place Friday, January 16 at the Pechanga Casino Resort in Temecula, California. The main event features a featherweight title fight between Patricio "Pitbull" Friere and Daniel Straus. Straus, the former featherweight titleholder, lost the title to Pat Curran in March 2014.

Bellator 133 takes place on February 27 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. Douglas Lima defends his welterweight title against Paul Daley. Daley will make his Bellator return after undergoing legal issues with his travel visa. It also features a light heavyweight title fight between Emmanuel Newton and Liam McGeary.

On the undercard, heavyweight brutes Bobby Lashley and James Thompson will face off, and Sokoudjou takes on Linton Vassel.

The final announced fight card is Bellator 134 on March 27, which takes place at the Worldstar Casino Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It features a bantamweight championship fight between Joe Warren and Marcos Galvao.

Not sure where that came from.  Here it says she made weight: http://mmajunkie.com/2014/11/wsof-15-weigh-in-results-guillard-misses-weight-gaethje-bout-now-non-title

WSOF said she made weight.  Not sure where it said she no showed.

Yeah, that was just someone posted on Tapology, but was clearly wrong. XFC is still suing WSOF apparently.

Also fwiw Thompson already beat Lashley By unanimous decision on a SFL card in India 2 years ago and that it is a very uninteresting rematch.

And Patricio Pitbull has a unanimous decision win over Straus too.

And Warren has a unanimous decision win over Galvao too.

Coker putting them rematches together.

Hope he puts on Patricio Pitbull/Warren II on so we can see Patricio finally avenge that controversial loss.

While this probably will be lost when the UFC has their presser later today, I think this does fit into the discussion we had about gym regulation and overall culture:

Red Schafer's comments are on page six, FWIW.

It's in reference to the fallout of Dennis Munson's Jr., a member of the now disbanded Roufusport kickboxing team, who died following fighting at an unregulated Duke Roufus promoted event in March.

Not looking good for Duke Roufus and Scott Cushman right now.  This makes the complaints made by the girls from Team Pettis early in the season look pretty convincing in hindsight.
