Joe Lucia
You're right, it was 20 hours for Cormier. Not sure where I got 10 from. MMAFighting lists it as an "indefinite or lifetime ban". I'd presume that verbiage was used because of his appeal.
TheVileOne
MMAjunkie says "lifetime ban" in the headline but the article says "indefinite suspension." It does not say, "he was handed a lifetime ban, but the commission ruled an indefinite suspension pending an appeal by Wanderlei Silva." Poor reporting IMHO. Get your facts straight. Elsalvajeloco
Was Silva actually banned or is it indefinite suspension because...those are not the same thing... An indefinite suspension seems to imply they could come back and decide to lift it at some point. Indefinite but the commissioners pretty much clarify it as banned for life (obviously pending the appeal from Goodman). They were using Tyson's suspension (and 10% purse fine) for the ear biting as the precedent.

Elsalvajeloco
Technically, you can go back and lift any suspension. Applying for a license (which Wanderlei didn't have in the first place) and getting one is a different story.
TheVileOne
I think it's just a way for outlets to throw out the term lifetime ban to get more hits, but whatever.
epwar
A lifetime ban? After giving Chael two years for using everything under the sun? Jesus.
Elsalvajeloco
To be fair VileOne, from watching the hearing, it didn't sound like a suspension that they were just doing because he didn't show up (or call in on the phone). In addition, everyone else is using the term "lifetime ban" (https://twitter.com/search?q=lifetime%20ban&src=typd). It's just not people looking for page hits.
Guest Edwin
Good chance we'll end up seeing Wanderlei fighting the likes of Tatsuya Mizuno in ONE FC and possibly Satoshi Ishii in IGF.

Elsalvajeloco
The NSAC (or NAC now) basically treat fighters who bring revenue to Nevada like the local cops treat Martin Sheen's character in Badlands after they've arrested him. All they need to do is ask fighters if they want a Coke and it would be the exact same thing. So much gladhanding and amusement because someone popular is in their presence. Well, in the case of the Brock fight, he stalled giving a sample for nearly a month after running...and still got to fight!

Guest Edwin
So Jessica Penne made short work and best Lisa Ellis on TUF again. Lisa had already mentally lost the fight beforehand since she already had a loss to Penne. Dana didn't seem to happy about her performance, so I think there's a chance she may not even get to make her official UFC debut before getting cut. Also Team Pettis is up 3-0 so far with Markos, Jo Jo and now Penne advancing. Carla Esparza vs. Angela Hill is next weeks fight.
Elsalvajeloco
TUF 20 is basically like Bad Girls Club but with legit fighting and less overall sluttiness. Anyway, I don't think Lisa is getting cut unless she doesn't want fight because of her family. If the standard for the UFC was they cut everyone who doesn't fight up to their potential in one fight, then a quarter of the current roster would be cut immediately. Guest Edwin
Considering it is TUF and not the UFC per se and Dana didn't look to pumped, yeah, there's a chance she doesn't make it to the UFC like it's happened before on other seasons of TUF.
