TNA Impact Wrestling - 3/15/16

Recommended Posts

Awesome surprising finish that I didn't see coming at all. Main event was a fun interference cluster of a match while it lasted. Solid matches and feud progression elsewhere on the show. Always glad to have Jeff back. Nice little bit keeping Maria and Gail from ever going at it until the finish in the tag. Decay still rules, good win for them and Rosemary remains awesome in her role. Galloway is the man, looking forward to his reign with lots of possible challengers in Bennett, Hardy, and eventually Lashley. This is actually the first time Feast or Fired has ever been succesfully cashed in on the world title after 5 previous failures to do so.

Full results:

*Jeff Hardy def. Eric Young (9:43) after the Swanton Bomb. During the match, Dixie Carter announced that the winner would be added to the main event title match with Matt Hardy and EC3. After the match, Matt Hardy tried to talk Jeff out of being in the title match to no avail.

*Earlier today video was shown of Decay attacking Eddie Edwards backstage. Beer Money joined Edwards and issued a challenge for a six person tag team match against Decay.

*Mike Bennett & Maria def. Drew Galloway & Gail Kim (5:12) when Maria pinned Gail with a rollup.

*Josh Mathews interviewed Lashley in the ring about why he turned on Angle last week. Lashley said he was the most dominating force in wrestling today but was constantly being overlooked for guys like Galloway, EC3, and The Hardys which he blamed on politics. Josh thought Kurt and Lashley were friends but Lashley said he had no friends. Lashley bullied Josh and tossed him down. Lashley set up for the spear but The Pope D'Angelo Dinero ran in for the save so Lashley gave Pope the Spear instead.

Decay (Abyss, Crazzy Steve, & Rosemary) def. Eddie Edwards & Beer Money (7:21) when Steve pinned Edwards with a rollup

*Billy Corgan brought Grado & Eli Drake to the ring to settle their dispute after evidence showed Eli messing with the cases. Corgan made Grado return Eli's case to him and then announced a ladder match for Grado's new contract which either Grado could win or Eli could tear up.

*Grado def. Eli Drake (7:09) in a ladder match to win his new TNA contract.

*Matt Hardy vs. Ethan Carter III vs. Jeff Hardy went to a no contest (18:00) after Eric Young took out Jeff with a piledriver on the exposed outside floor and Mike Bennett laid out EC3 with a steel chair attack.

*Drew Galloway cashed in his Feast or Fired briefcase and defeated Matt Hardy (0:30) with the Future Shock DDT to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Drew celebrated his win in the crowd and around ringside to end the show.

What a shit show this was. Like usual, more of TNA now isn't always better. There were no good matches here, and the mixed and intergender tags were largely awful. Maria may actually be worse than Velvet in the ring. They had ONE ACT that worked - Matt as a heel, and nixed it tonight so CAPN DREW could cash in his change in the piggy bank case and win it.
