Tromatagon Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I asked this last month but I think it got lost amongst the postmodernism:Is there a Best of WCW Saturday Night set anyone knows of? Or best of WCWSN/Pro/Worldwide?There is definitely no "official" set, but I know you can find torrents of complete episodes. An "unofficial" best of the B-shows" comp, of only the Saturday & syndicated shows would have potential for some good stuff. Those sets would be a dream. I'm sucker for those shows over Nitro and Thunder because of the odd match-ups and appearances. I always loved that futuristic, sci-fi designed Saturday Night set and the show open too. I'd love to see 911 in WCW and a quick search on YouTube produced nothingLook up Big Al in WCW on YouTube. There's at least two on there.Nothing under the name Tombstone but he used that too.
Territorial Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 In honor of Labor Day, what are the best wrestling gimmicks that revolve around working class occupations? Mantaur. 1

jaedmc Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I think Boss Man is the best. Dusty just spoke for the working class.. He knew about hard time, but Boss Man WAS hard time. 2
Tromatagon Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I think this calls for a tourney. Jae, you know what to do.
odessasteps Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Boogie Woogie Man and Big Mama Do bikers count? That would give you dozens of people.
jaedmc Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I think this calls for a tourney. Jae, you know what to do. I just vomited. Vomit everywhere. 4
Niners Fan in CT Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake should rank up there. Obviously William Regal with hard hat.
Sky Blue Sam Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I'm guessing Mass Transit is very much the wrong answer. Big Josh would be my answer.
Matt D Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 When is the last time that every single WWE title holder was a heel? 1
JRGoldman Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The Sheepherders always seemed like upstanding working class dudes just trying to get by. Also, The Mountie aka Bossman North.
Johnny Sorrow Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Jake "The Milkman" Milliman, is the answer.
Cristobal Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I think this calls for a tourney. Jae, you know what to do. He just needs to make sure that CM "the Televangelist" Punk and Daniel "Vegan Chef" Bryan end up in opposite brackets.

Casey Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Repo Man would be huge in current day WWE programming - imagine a crossover with TruTV and Lizard Lick/South Beach Tow. 1
odessasteps Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Are the Wyatts the WWE's version of Duck Dynasty?
mco543 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Wouldn't the majority of the WWE's roster from the mid-90's count for this? We had clowns, dentist, truck driver, hockey player, pig farmer, plumber, accountant, undertaker, sumo wrestler, personal trainers, rodeo cowboys, etc.
LooseCannon Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I didn't ask for a list of working class gimmicks, I asked which ones were the best. C'mon people, give me some reasons why you think those gimmicks were awesome. We're talking about wrestlers whose gimmick revolved around a specific occupation that could be described as working class or proletarian.
bornintofilth Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The man carried his work with him. Even when he was participating in his hobby, he was thinking about work. 5
Newb82 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 He was just so happy to get the fuck out of Rochester, NY he just grabbed whatever was near him and took off. 7

Josh Mann Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Not the best occupational gimmick but the one closest to my own heart: Ace Reporter Gregory Helms 1
HumanChessgame Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The man carried his work with him. Even when he was participating in his hobby, he was thinking about work. Don't forget perennial WCW Worldwide jobbers Men at Work. I remember one match against Duggan in which Kanyon snuck over to his 2x4, started measuring it, and looked into the camera stating that it was a good piece of lumber and that he wanted to take it back with him. It was a lot funnier to me than it should have been. I asked this last month but I think it got lost amongst the postmodernism: Is there a Best of WCW Saturday Night set anyone knows of? There was an interview with 911 in one of the Apter magazines in which he talked about wanting to wrestle The Giant in a "chokeslam vs chokeslam" match. Shortly thereafter he showed up on Nitro or some other WCW show and jobbed to The Giant in a few seconds.
