username
I mean, Bisping was saying that the only reason he wasn't fighting a top contender at 206 was because they were all booked. This would seem to fix that problem...

Jiji
That could be an incredibly frustrating fight for Lineker. Yeah, all it takes is one punch, but how many good shots is Dillashaw going to get hit with?

It's still not available on PS4 for whatever reason. Any organization like the UFC should have a legal streaming service at this point. I remember reading something about Sony technology that conflicts with Fight Pass. In contrast WWE made something like a $150 million off the network but of course they killed the ppv business. I could see UFC offering a separate tier for fight pass that includes ppv but nothing cheap like WWE probably like $50 per month. What if UFC brought G4 and had their own network? NHL is making around a $150 million per year(they take in 85% of that) off the NHL network in just 38 million homes. While still getting $200 million from NBC and extra money from the Center Ice package. Its like having the best of both worlds.
Elsalvajeloco
But they're banking on a giant TV deal though (especially in light of the sale) and that the market hasn't come undone yet. I think now would be the most opportune time to sign a new deal, but they still have a little bit before the current deal expires. I mean I thought it was crazy that people thought that football (both college and pro) ratings would just continue to skyrocket. It was crazy that ESPN had to pay back companies that advertised on their networks during the climax of last year's bowl season because there wasn't an absurdly high number even though the actually #s were stellar virtually compared to anything else. Now, the NFL ratings are down but I think a lot of that is not so stellar matchups in primetime. The fucking Bears have like 4 primetime games before week 9. People are underrating how much football is star driven. When stars are retiring, out injured, or suspended in addition to teams being absolutely shitshows (and not in a fun debacle kinda way), it's going to have an adverse effect on ratings. Some of these games are just bad, and it's only going to get worse. It's just a lot of risk associated with doing the whole rebranding/network thing. I'm not a real big wrestling fan, but I will admit the WWE is more suitable for having a network on cable than the UFC. The current WWE network is doing okay, but it's still under their projections and most likely going to stay that way. The UFC is so much geared towards live fights. When you have down periods, it would pretty much bring the network rating averages to a grinding halt. I think the only way it would be able to sustain through that is if they had a WEC or one of these feeder leagues got a hot enough to justify having it on TV. I could legitimately see something worthwhile if like WSOF, Invicta, and maybe a couple promotions with real talent based their schedule around the UFC and did shows on the network like it is currently online. Maybe have RIZIN live and then show it taped delayed later that day. Other than that, people aren't really going to watch in a decent numbers outside of live UFC events. With the cost-cutting the current regime wants to do, it's really not worth it to them.

Guest Edwin
I was at one of the school campuses I work at yesterday and there's this guy from Brazil that works here and he comes in my office as he was having some problems with something. We were talking about sports and he told me he didn't really like any sports aside from MMA and I told him I was a huge fan and have been covering event results and such for Tapology for a couple of years now and he told me he was a BJJ black belt and that he was a writer for Tatame and that he has cornered and coached Gleison Tibau, Mark Hunt, Hector Lombard and a ton of other guys from American Top Team as he was a strength and conditioning coach there. Of course this all sounded like BS, but then the guy showed me magazine articles he's written for Tatame and videos of him training and coaching these guys, so I told him that was awesome and we talked about BJJ and stuff as I've also trained for a bit, but am obviously far from having the level of knowledge he does. Anyway, just thought I'd share the story with you guys.

Elsalvajeloco
Just now, Edwin said: Yeah, Stefane. The dude is super cool. He was telling how he helped train Mariusz Pudzianowski for his fight against Bob Sapp. I totally forgot about him partly because ATT had a lot of turnover (fighters and coaches) when Benkei left and went to Matt Hughes' old gym that Jesse Finney bought, and you had the fighters start Imperial Athletics (which went on to be the Blackzilians/Jaco Hybrid Training Center) in Boca around that time as well. It appeared he was going to be Benkei's replacement, and then he just kinda disappeared.
