The Diaz vs. McGregor II presser is later today. So get ready.

Gloating Conor McGregor about what's happened with Jon Jones and UFC 200? As we know, Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 2 was originally the main event for that show.

John Kavanagh already did that.  Well the new main event is Lesnar/Hunt.  So I mean, there's that.

The people I watched UFC 200 with and myself were all thinking that with 200 out of the way, they announce the sale of the company this week. Just idle speculation.

Dana White apparently announced Dan Henderson getting a shot at the middleweight title against Michael Bisping.

On the postfight show Bisping at Dana's asking leading questions said he burns to fight Hendo whom he Hates the most.

Also Dana mentioned Rousey could fight this year or wait until 2017.

As a fan of Jacare, I do not abide.  That's his title shot.

I wonder if they rerun Romero and Jacare because there is that dynamic there of "Well, Romero did beat Jacare whether you agree with the decision and was slightly vindicated by getting his penalty greatly reduced". Otherwise, Jacare is looking at sitting out for a year and that's before adding in what could possibly happen down the road.

If Hendo loses, gets a big final payday and retires then it'll be fine and a good way for him to end a legendary career. Now if somehow Hendo catches him with an H-Bomb again... I mean I doubt it, but there's always that small chance.

Looks like UFC has been sold to WME-IMG and MSD for $4 billion.

Dana White reportedly stays on as President and retains 9 percent minority stake.  Fertitta brothers will reportedly keep a minority stake in the company.  Lorenzo Fertitta will reportedly step down as chairman 6-8 weeks after sale.  He will stay chairman during the transition.

A lot can be made or debated about this, but good for the Fertitta brothers.  They paid $2 million for the UFC in 2000, and they sunk and lost millions more until it started to become profitable.  Their hard work and money they invested into the company ultimately paid off.

Now Lorenzo can possibly move on to becoming an NFL owner.

Even if they wanted to do that, I doubt they wanted it to overshadow what came out of the series of three shows.

Turns out that day to announce would be Monday.

I don't remember if I brought this up before, but wasn't one of the Fertittas on the NSAC during the dark ages of the UFC and voted against sanctioning the sport in Nevada, only then to go on and bid for the company, buy it, and then relatively swiftly get it sanctioned in Nevada? Apparently Lorenzo was commissioner of NSAC from 96-00. Convenient.

Anyway, I was just glancing at Ari Emanuel's wiki page and was less than thrilled when I came over this:

Quote

According to Epstein, Emanuel made racist and anti-gay remarks and prevented her from sending a script about Navy SEALs to actor Wesley Snipes, saying: "That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Everyone knows that blacks don't swim." Emanuel disputed these accusations at the time. Epstein's claims were settled for $2.25 million.

O_o

I think the Fertittas are more invested in being bigger players in the casino business rather than the NFL, which would be a longshot considering involvement in said casino business.
