JANUARY 2016 WRESTLING PHOTO THREAD

Just re-read Bret's book and one of the things he talks about is wrestling Malenko who picks him up in a suplex to put him on the top rope and dropped him so hard and awkwardly on the turnbuckle that Bret tore his groin muscle on the move (And would eventually require surgery to fix it).  He really doesn't have much respect for Malenko after that match.

You could count on one hand the number of guys Bret had respect for.  Dude is full of stories like this, about losing all respect for guys he wrestled.  It's almost as if he's really really insecure and has to put everybody else down to feel good about himself.  Nah, can't be.

Eh, most of the guys he loses respect for are clearly guys he had an axe to grind with for other reasons (Hogan for his comment about how "none of the boys could trust Bret"; Flair for the various public feuds the two of them have had; Michaels and Triple H for obvious reasons; Bravo, Malenko and Goldberg for the injuries).  He speaks pretty glowingly about lots of guys like the Undertaker, Austin, Vader, Savage, Hennig, Funk, Mysterio, pretty much all of his relatives/Calgary trainees and the old-time guys like Race, Burke etc. etc.

Bret's got lots of issues, but I don't think "he's really insecure" makes the list.

I have no memory of this:

The Apple vs. The Corre

Henry is so awesome, rolling his eyes at the silliness of "Apple Powers Unite".

Santino's music gets quite the crowd pop. But I have to wonder if it wasn't partly because the crowd was ready for that 2-minutes-that-felt-like-20-minutes CORRE promo segment to end.

Even with Goldberg he did not seem to attack him personally. He was pretty clear he blamed WCW for not training him properly.

Even when he hated Michaels, he put him over as a great talent. He is pretty forth right about who he hates and why.
