There are so going to be like 8 minutes of stoppage time

Oh God I know. The one thing that needs to be said is if this one goes to shit nobody can blame Klinnsman. I'm not his biggest fan but he did everything right tonight.

Good on the Ticos for playing with pride knowing they were eliminated. Funny thing is the price for the quarterfinal at MetLife will go through the roof for the probable Brazil-Colombia matchup. Would be hilarious if Brazil loses vs Peru and ends up playing us in Seattle.

Funny how tonights hype email says the first game is in the NY metropolitan area, but the second is in Boston.

Giants stadium has to be closer to Manhattan than Foxborough is to Boston, right? Not even close.

The announcers freaking out about us having to play Equador need to calm down. They are seal clubbing a bad team with nothing to play for in front of a crowd consisting of every Ecuadorian living in the NY Metro area. They are no easy out of course but they are beatable and it's not disrespect to perfer to play them instead of Brazil.

Not entirely sure. Dunga seemed to have them on a good path in South Africa up until Felipe Melo had a total meltdown. Then they tried to recapture Scolari-2002-Magic and it backfired in spectacular fashion. Now it seems like a "quickfix for shattered glass" kind of deal where everyone is ignoring the obvious flaws in the squad and expecting miracle work. The handball was so blatant aswell, Dunga might have a pretty good case to get at least the Olympics (in it is even him coaching, no idea how the Brazilian FA handles this matter). Wouldn't like being in his spot right now, though. He hasn't really bought himself much time.

Dude is playing with 2 defensive mids against Peru and barely allows those guys to move forward. He reminds me of Paulo Bento (he managed Sporting and Portugal for Euro 2012 and World Cup 2014), they'll rely on that defensive/holding 4-2-3-1 until death, can't adapt to the game and have very pedestrian attack schemes.
