NOV 2015 TV DISCUSSION

RIPPA

I thought that Walking Dead preview was hilarious because it showed NOTHING. If idiot fans sat through a show they didn't really wanna watch for 20 minutes just for that, they deserve to suffer.

I know!  Thank god the guy who made Mad Men previews found work.

I miss those awesomely vague Mad Men previews.

We joked during that they should have done one for after the series finale as a final gag.

I imagine there are a lot of panicked women in LA right now, considering how much this guy gets around.

You mean mostly pornstars living in Van Nuys and the surrounding areas in the San Fernando Valley.

Also, apparently Sheen has a very small amount of HIV in his bloodstream, has told every sex partner about his infection, and the two that he HAS had unprotected sex with are under the care of his personal doctor.

I can't wait to see the bridge I bought from him!

I swear, I watched 2 or 3 episodes of that, and I'm still not sure what was going on.

Sutter tried to cram 4 or 5 plots and subplots into the first season of the show. It went off the rails quickly. Especially after the whole thing essentially became a knock-off of the Da Vinci Code with Katy Segal being some kind of seraphim who belonged to an order of angels who were tasked with protecting the true word of Jesus from descendants of the Roman soldiers who killed Jesus but were forgiven by him who now work for the Church and don't want those teachings to threaten the fundamental values of the Church so now they hunt the Seraphim but she's being protected by her husband who is a former Templar Knight who has leprosy and they may or may not be the parents of the main character because he sees them in his visions. Yes, I know that was a long run-on sentence but that's exactly how that plot felt to me. The only characters who were interesting were the Chamberlain and Lady Love. She only got interesting about halfway through the season.

Holy shit, I didn't even realize the Bastard Executioner even started. I guess its cancellation explains the ramped up Sons of Anarchy spin-off talk that picked up steam late last week. Although Sutter is only supposed to be an executive producer on that.

Michael Shannon was fucking HILARIOUS on @Midnight. It's so bizarre seeing him tell jokes, and his sense of humor comes off so awkward and dry because of your vision of him from his roles. It's really, really awesome to watch so catch the replay.

And, right in the middle of those two, he does things like reading That Crazy Sorority Letter.

Shannon is a frequent guest/ contestant on the Doug Loves Movies podcast and he's always hilarious on it.

I vaguely remember seeing this before now that you mention it. Methinks there were more drinks than one involved in those takes.

Complete bullshit.  He totally stole Alison Haislip's gimmick.
