odessasteps
I wonder if this will stem the very vocal criticism of Shapiro.
Infinit
Well with Dalton Pompey and the returning Michael Saunders also in the outfield, we traded from a position of strength to shore up a place with needs. So this is definitely a win for team Shapiro.
Ryan
Surely all the Brewers offseason pickups will lead them to the WS this year. Ramon Flores, Jonathan Villar, Rene Garcia, Jim Miller, Henry Medina, Harold Chirino, Edwin Sano, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Andy Wilkins, Josmil Pinto, Keon Broxton, Trey Supak, Nick Hagadone, Will Middlebrooks, Alex Presley, Jake Elmore, Garin Cecchini, Colin Walsh, Zach Jones, Daniel Tillman, a bunch of minor league scrap in small trades and Chris Carter! Such wheeling and dealing. Note, 2 or 3 of these dregs may end up starters.
RIPPA
Guys...thoughts on Storen? Was it just the Papelbon trade that caused his late season blowup? The Nats front office was pretty much done with Storen before the trade since he has a couple of MASSIVE blown saves in big games. (Thus why they thought they needed Paps last year) So Storen honestly was always going to be gone. But yeah - he clearly is a delicate flower and the Paps trade totally destroyed him last year (well and Matt Williams not really knowing how to manage a bullpen too.) He clearly needed a change of scenery. It does seem that he is much better suited to be a closer than an 8th inning guy though.
Joe Lucia
Storen was put in a position to fail back in the 2012 NLDS. How in the fuck could Johnson just sit there and watch him get thrashed in Game 5 for as long as he did without even getting someone loose? Shit, for that matter, Johnson just sort of gave Storen his job back going into the playoffs after Clippard had pitched so well all year. Then in 2013, they signed Soriano, which worked fine that year and horribly in 2014, leading to Storen taking his job back. There was no reason for Storen to lose the job in 2015, but they brought in Paps, and he fucked errrrrrything up. I'm not saying Storen is some sort of top ten, elite level reliever, but he's been horribly mismanaged in DC from pretty much day one.

Ryan
Not accurate enough, 90% of these guys wouldn't even make spring training for that team.
RIPPA
Seattle announced that they will retire Ken Griffey Jr's number in August thus making him the first Mariner to receive that honor
BrianS81177
Very well deserved. Griffey is what got me interested in baseball in the first place.
odessasteps
Surprised they haventnt retired Johnsons number. Maybe they wanted JR to be the first?

Nice Guy Eddie
Surprised they haventnt retired Johnsons number. Maybe they wanted JR to be the first? Does it matter that Johnson went in with a DBacks cap on his plaque?
ChesterCopperpot
How have the Angels never had a player wear their cap in the Hall of Fame? Would Vladdy go in with an Angels cap or Expos?
Joe Lucia
How have the Angels never had a player wear their cap in the Hall of Fame? Would Vladdy go in with an Angels cap or Expos? He actually posted a funny thing on Twitter the other day with a half and half cap. I think he'd probably go in with the Angels since he won his MVP there, but who really knows anymore
odessasteps
Well, if Raines and Vlad both get in, i could see Vlad as Angel since Raines will be an Expo. Edit: i asked Keri on Twitter. "i think no cap most likely or if yes cap then Angel."

Ryan
This should give you a good idea of how in tune the Brewers are with their own marketing department. At a convenience store I saw a 2016 Brewers Calendar. Carlos Gomez is on the cover and at least 2 other guys on it are no longer Brewers, possibly soon to be more. I think the other two are K-Rod and Adam Lind, but Lucroy, Davis and the obvious other ones are all in it too. Those two could be gone by the start of the season. The lead time in printing those things must have been immense.
Joe Lucia
A friend got a Braves one that was the same way. And Andrelton Simmons was mis-labeled as Jace Peterson. Licensing is a bitch.

Serious Darius Bagfelt
I think so. It'll be interesting to see if Storen becomes Toronto's closer or if they stick with Roberto Osuna. They arent moving Osuna out of that role. This is more to replace Sanchez since they have to see if he can cut it as a starter this year
The Nature Boy
Teams really need to stop using player pictures for calendars. Use historic pictures or pictures of the stadium.
