It's a subscription channel in Europe. It has to be, because they sold the TV rights to SKY, and the Free to Air TV Highlights rights to the BBC. But the streaming online rights, they kept (although Redzone does air on SKY Sports on Sunday evening).

And the showrunner finished the fourth season pitch earlier this month if I recall correctly. Either they didn't like the pitch or this pretty much confirms Disney is the one ending the Netflix shows. Pretty much means The Marvel netflix series are ending with JJ S3 and Punisher S2.

This.  The second I saw the cancellation for DD, it had to be because they're just moving everything over.  They were probably too far along into making Pun & JJ to pull them.  Good chance all the people just get picked back up when the Mouse starts creating the content.

The Mouse does not want adult-ish content on Disney+ though.

It's a no-brainer that JJ and the Punisher will be cancelled after the upcoming seasons end and then the Marvel's The Defenders related shows will probably join Runaways on Hulu (Disney owns 30% of Hulu) if the Netflix MCU shows aren't entirely shitcanned to save money.

If it survives, I'd rather see Daredevil keep it's mature audience vibe and resurface on Hulu rather than be watered down for D+.

Cancelling the Marvel shows is a win-win for both companies.  Netflix frees up the production cash to use for something else and Disney consolidated more content under the MCU umbrella to use however it sees fit to.

Wasn't it more the Feige/Perlmutter feud than all execs?

Loeb oversees the television side of Marvel and he reports directly to Perlmutter. It's not difficult to make a connection as to why Feige and his side of Marvel doesn't want to be near the TV side.

Marvel's Daredevil cancelled regrettably. The first and third season of Daredevil not only tops the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe with S1 #1 and S3 in 2nd place, its Marvel’s best live action ever. Season two was the weakest but had its moments.

The story/writing more so in S1 and S3, the performances in every season, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/the Kingpin, perfect in the parts. The action particularly Season One’s hallway fight, the 11 minute one-take fight and Murdock vs. Fakedevil in Season Three. The tone of the show and John Paesano’s music.

Daredevil went out on a high and its there to return back to which I’ve done before and will again. Thank you to all involved with this excellent show!

Worked on this today in light of Daredevil's cancellation, the top ten episodes in Daredevil history. I've put the list in spoilers as there's a summary of what happens in each episode:

Here are the top ten Daredevil episodes (a challenge):

1. Into the Ring. Flashback to Matt’s accident. Matt’s speech in confession. Daredevil saves Karen Page. Montage of what’s to come. (S1 Ep1)

2. Cut Man. Flashback to Matt stitching up his Dad. Dad told to take dive but wins fight and gets murdered. Amazing Daredevil hallway fight to free kidnapped child. (S1 Ep2)

3. Shadows in the Glass. Wilson Fisk origin. Dad abusive to him and his Mum teaching violence. Wilson kills Dad, he and Mum cover it up. Fisk comes out into the open as savior of Hell’s Kitchen. (S1 Ep8)

4. Daredevil. Fisk kills Owsley for fundraiser poisoning. Matt and Foggy reconcile. Corrupt cop from earlier episode leads to arrests including Wilson Fisk who busts out in transit with the Good Samaritan speech. Daredevil wears new red suit and recaptures Fisk. (S1 Ep13)

5. Blindsided. Matt uses Nelson’s license to go to jail and find out about Fisk’s stabbing. Matt has to fight his way out of the jail as the Kingpin authorizes inmates and guards on his payroll to get Murdock. It’s an amazing one-shot 11 minute sequence. Fisk lies for Dex as he’s under investigations for his actions when the convoy Fisk was in came under attack. (S3 Ep4)

6. A New Napkin. Karen/Foggy uploads the video from Nadeem about Fisk’s crimes and names those who are corrupt. A three way fight goes down between Daredevil, Fisk and Dex. Matt makes a deal with Kingpin, Kingpin will keep away from Nelson/Page and Daredevil’s secret identity so Matt won’t go after Vanessa. Murdock, Nelson and Page get back together. (S3 Ep13)

7. Penny and Dime. Daredevil rescues Frank Castle from his torturers and they escape with Daredevil having to stop Frank from using lethal force. Daredevil asks Sgt Mahoney to get help for Frank and take the collar to show the law works. Matt and Karen kiss. Matt returns home, Elektra is waiting for him. (S2 Ep4)

8. The Devil You Know. Matt will turn himself in to the FBI with Foggy as lawyer but first Nadeem has to hear the testimony of the guy Fisk hired to stab him. New York Bulletin reports Dex is under investigation. Fisk gives Dex a gift. Dex dresses up as Daredevil fights the real Daredevil. Dex kills the stabber of Fisk. FBI report Daredevil was behind the attack. (S3 Ep6)

9. Upstairs/Downstairs. Nadeem and Daredevil break into Dex’s home for evidence that he was the attacker of the Bulletin. Dex overhears them so Nadeem/Daredevil flees. Fisk and Karen talk to one another, Fisk finds out that Karen knows about Matt’s secret life so to get Wilson back, says she killed James Wesley. Murdock working out hears Sister Maggie is his Mother. (S3 Ep8)

10. New York’s Finest. Daredevil wakes up to find he’s chained on a roof by Frank Castle. Daredevil and Frank talk about their different stances. Daredevil believes there’s hope and redemption. Frank thinks Daredevil is a half-measure, a man who can’t finish the job and a coward. Daredevil subdues Frank and has to fight the Dogs of Hell in the corridor/stairwell. (S2 Ep3)

❤️ Alice in Chains works perfect with that.

Punisher always gets short shrift with Marvel, he's the redheaded stepchild of the company. Won't be surprised when they pull the plug but will be annoyed as it's the only Marvel thing I've watched since GOTG
