Elsalvajeloco Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 All You Need is Kill has been retitled Edge of Tomorrow.
Lazlo Woodbine Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Edge Of Tomorrow is just a terrible name, makes me think of Saved By The Bell: The College Years. Not a good thing. 1
Elsalvajeloco Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I was thinking the name of a bad Metallica song.
EVA Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Apparently, it's HALO meets GROUNDHOG DAY and has, like, 8 screenwriters, so...the title is probably the least of it's problems.
Death From Above Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Literally any collection of English words would be better than "All You Need is Kill" unless you're making a spaghetti western though.
Lazlo Woodbine Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 See, I could possibly be sold -with no other information- on something called All You Need Is Kill. But Halo meets Groundhog Day? I can't even comprehend what form that would take.
Death From Above Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I dunno. Groundhog Day is a whole movie built around the video game premise of the reset switch where you start the level over but still remember which platform you fell off of in the first place. So adding in "like a video game but Groundhog Day" isn't that big a stretch to me since that's sort of an announcement from The Department of Redundancy Department.
Burgundy LaRue Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Edge Of Tomorrow is just a terrible name, makes me think of Saved By The Bell: The College Years. Not a good thing. Makes me think of Edge of Night, the defunct daytime soap opera. I don't think that's what they're going for. 1
Lazlo Woodbine Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I guess so. I doubt this film will be funny though. It's not Bill Murray in that suit, more's the pity.
mco543 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I would be completely embarrassed to go to a theater and ask for tickets to a movie called "All You Need Is Kill". I wouldn't be able to bring myself to utter that name, not that I'll be seeing it anyway, but that title is awful. It sounds like a parody movie title you'd get on The Critic or something.

I haven't asked for a ticket to anything in years
Brian Fowler Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 All You Need is Kill is at least mockable and funny. Edge of Tomorrow is just... yeah
TimLivingston Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 John Leguizamo being in Kick-Ass 2 is beyond awesome. Big Dave in Riddick is also awesome.
ultimoDANK Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 So like someone else here the Only God Forgives trailer got me a lil tingley. Why is it getting such shit reviews? It's sitting at like 37 on metacritic. That doesn't compute based on that trailer.

Burgundy LaRue Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Ryan Gosling is shit. At with that, it's official: DVDVR deserves a better class of provocateur. Someone is not getting the job done.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 At with that, it's official: DVDVR deserves a better class of provocateur. Someone is not getting the job done. I'm retired. Gonzales is handling business.
Burgundy LaRue Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Gonzalez is a fine and capable person. Still, a shunning is in order.
Gonzalez Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 FSW was broken physically, and mentally by the board being down so long. While he recovers I'll be taking over the Fat-mantle for now until he can make a full-time return. Who knows maybe I'll do just as good of a job as him, maybe even surpass him.

The Natural Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I watched The World’s End (2013) yesterday with my Dad about friends meeting up for a pub crawl twenty years after failing to finish it. Initial reaction is that it’s the weakest of the Cornetto trilogy and the least funny. I still really liked it and laughed at it but I do think it’s a film you need to watch again and see what you think of it with another viewing. I’ll do that when it’s released on DVD.
Bustronaut Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Being the final movie in this supposed trilogy, it's only proper that it be a bit melancholy. Can't wait for it's US release!

Control Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Can't post it, but there's an amazing-looking trailer for Terry Gilliam's ZERO THEOREM out now http://youtu.be/sqstYTuvbcs I refuse to believe that this will be anything other than amazing
