Hana is taking on Kagetsu in 2 weeks for the Stardom red belt and everybody is thrilled about it.

I never realised how much Rossy looks like "Japanese JR" until right now.

Random blurb from the new WON

Quote

There are issues with (Hana) Kimura. It goes back to the ROH PPV show in Las Vegas, when Christopher Daniels was the agent for her match and as the story goes, she was not open to his suggestions and there were people who thought that was unprofessional given how much respect everyone has for Daniels’s knowledge of working and his status. Then in Mexico, the word was she didn’t feel she had to follow the usual guidelines and in Japan, was showing up late for shows and acting like, with the talent in Stardom done because of the losses of Io Shirai and Kairi Sane, that they need her. She’s actually under contract to Wrestle-1, not Stardom, but works regularly on Stardom shows

WAVE is running a #1 contender tourney on 11/18 at Korakuen. Same rules as that Diana tag tourney, 10 minute time limit and a draw is a loss for both wrestlers.  The final 2 and last year's winner, Ohka, will be drawn into a semifinal with the winner getting the other person.  The tourney winner will face Asuka in a match, I assume, will take place before the hiatus at the end of the year.

Japanese Pro Wrestling Legend Chigusa Nagayo Stops Assault On Woman In Parking Lot

Quote

On November 19th in the early morning, former professional women's wrestler (and head of Marvelous women's pro-wrestling) Chigusa Nagayo was involved in a physical altercation after intervening when she saw a man in his twenties physically assaulting his wife, Sankei News reports.

While walking through the streets of Sapporo, Nagayo (53) heard cries of help emanating from the third floor of a parking structure. When she rushed to the scene she found a man straddling a woman and grabbing a hold of her leg and neck, with the woman's personal belongs strewn about the floor. Nagayo called the police, but says she was concerned about how long they would take to arrive and approached to break up the struggle. The former pro wrestler then scolded the man, warning him to stop. For a moment the man complied and said he would, but upon releasing the woman, he then grabbed a hold of Nagayo's hair and left hand and tried to throw her to the ground.

On Fuji Television's "Direct LIVE Goody!", Nagayo recounted the encounter, saying she kept her hands interlocked with the assailant to keep him at bay, even when she felt that her finger bone had broken until fellow Marvelous wrestler Takumi Iroha and subsequently police arrived to arrest the man, who was intoxicated.

Mio Momono has torn knee ligaments and will need surgery putting her out of action for the near future. If you want to see Chigusa apologize for the shows Mio will miss and then Mio crying, it's below. It's a drag as she's so talented and lovable and it adds to the knee injuries plaguing female wrestlers recently.

Hana made a (sort of) TV appearance. This Kawaiian TV seems to be some cable network somewhere.  It was also announced that her and Asuka are having a title match against Ohka/Mio. I assume that Asuka and Ohka are trading belts before Wave goes on hiatus.

Watched this, it was basically a puff piece and Hana came out in her cheerleader gear. They talked about various things. Interesting to hear about the training she got at Wrestle-1. From what I gathered, it costs 100,000 yen to enter and 50,000 yen a month for the 6 month program. They cover all aspects of pro wrestling, not just the wrestling.  That included diet, exercise and acting classes. On a personal level, it seems that Hana is looking for a boyfriend in his 40's who is stronger than her and she is crazy about candy apples.

The first comment on this tweet and Stardom's reply is pretty awesome.

Yeah, the Woke Crew were bitching yesterday about NJPW needing to book women, so the biggest Women's Promotion in Japan with a "No Thanks" is fucking great.

Taking morality out of the equation, of course they would say that. I think losing their top talent and being pushed even further to the fringes would damage them far more than a trickle down effect of interest would help them.

If I recall female wrestlers in Japan prefer to be detached from male promotions if possible.

This show is likely more a case of the ROH partnership from last year bringing in more Stardom World subscribers/money, Ogawa testing the waters of overseas fandom, & Stardom maybe finding someone over here willing to help with visas.
