The idea that Balor, Itami, Joe, Kidd, Breeze or Rhyno are better in-ring than Reigns is laughable to me.

Working fast = good! Well I don't know what the fuck Rhyno has in his favor.

I also like the talking out of both sides of the mouth. "Yea he works really hard and takes crazy bumps in meaningless matches which I would lose my mind for if it was Tyson Kidd but Roman Reigns has a good look so I must hate him."

Is it possible for you to state your opinions without creating a fake opinion to argue against?  It would be real cool if you could give that a shot.

So, to the people loudly championing what a tremendous wrestler Roman Reigns has become, is he one of your favourites now?  Do you eagerly look forward to the next Roman Reigns segment?  If [insert favourite wrestler of years past] came back in their prime, would Reigns be the first wrestler on the roster you'd want to see a match with?  Because I would pick any one of Bryan, Cesaro, Owens, Balor, Rollins, Ambrose, Lesnar, Harper, Rusev, Kidd, KENTA, Zayn, Joe, Rhyno, or Breeze ahead of Reigns to face a Flair or Terry Funk or Randy Savage.  And that's just the people I doubt anyone on here would disagree with.  I'd also prefer to see wrestlers like Jack Swagger or R-Truth over Reigns - people that are much more accomplished and/or talented than Reigns but are treated like jokes instead of faces-of-the-company-to-bes.  Reigns, while dealing with the audience hating him, has never had to deal with having the company cut off his legs the way someone like Zack Ryder has.  Let's see if he's still motivated to leap over the top rope head-first or work hard in nothing matches against Wyatt when the promise of everything he could ever dream of isn't there.  Let's see how motivated he is when his promise is another RAW match in the already-in-the-ring spot.

Audiences have always respected wrestlers who earn what they get.  Nobody would have boo'ed CM Punk main eventing Wrestlemania.  Reigns has been a professional wrestler for a shorter period of time than Alicia Fox has been on the main roster.  Reigns has never captured the audience's imaginations as a singles competitor and has been rewarded for this by being thrust into the main event of the biggest platform imaginable.  I cannot for the life of me understand how people fail to grasp this.  Wrestling fans go on and on about how there's no good storytelling in the WWE and then seem completely unable to understand the very clear story of why a group of people who have traditionally had to endure social scorn for liking something aren't willing to get behind someone who is being rewarded exclusively for his looks.

Which part did I make up? Seems like a pretty clear "I like guys who work hard in meaningless matches unless they are Roman Reigns" argument to me.

TMZ is reporting that the "Submission Sorority" name adopted Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch has been proven successful. But not just for WWE, notoriety has come to videos of the same name produced by porn company BangBros.

The site reports a huge spike in traffic following the debut of the new moniker for the WWE diva trio. They are so appreciative the site will be sending a gift basket to the WWE offices.

I hear some Nazi war criminals did the same at the WCW offices when Jeep Swenson was initially dubbed The Final Solution.

The idea that Balor, Itami, Joe, Kidd, Breeze or Rhyno are better in-ring than Reigns is laughable to me.

Tyson Kidd was a better act in 2014 than Reigns, and was easily better in the ring. Kidd showed more charisma than Reigns ever has in his NXT run, and his team with Cesaro was stealing the show on a regular basis before he got hurt. I don't think it's a stretch at all to say Kidd is a better pro wrestler than Reigns. Joe and Itami were also better in their prime, but it remains to be seen if they can get back at that level. Itami was just starting to find his feet in WWE before he got hurt. Breeze is a great all around act, and in general entertains me more than Reigns. If Balor can work more matches like he did in the title change match that'll be a big improvement from him.

Reigns has become one of the top babyface workers in WWE, but he still has glaring weaknesses to his overall game that guys like Kidd and Joe don't have. Most of it is character and mic work related, but he still needs to figure it out to become an elite overall talent.

I hope HHH tweets his appreciation like he did for Squared Circle.  Hey, if it's good enough for Squared Circle, it's good enough for BangBros!

So now we've got two people proving Gregg's "People hate guys who don't have the indy creds" talking point is legit and not a strawman.

I think some were fixated on Gregg being the messenger, that they couldn't see that in some circles--he's not wrong.  Not saying everyone thinks that way.  But some do.

No one is suggesting that Reigns doesn't have room to improve even more.  But the idea that Reigns can't be appreciated without fangirling/fanboying is incredible in its pretension.  That if you're a Reigns fan, it's only because he's good looking.  What an insult to both the wrestler and his fans.

I liked Kidd's character in NXT, but I don't recall him having a single great or standout match there. His Takeover matches were nothing special. I remember he got a long main event with Neville on one of the specials and it was just a match. Generic junior heavyweight stuff. If his tag matches are his best work then Reigns destroys him in that aspect. Remember the Shield?

Joe and Itami were indeed better in their prime. But their prime was 9 years ago. For the last 5 years they haven't done anything special.

Breeze is okay as a midcard schtick and Balor just isn't very good at all. He's over but he's never interested me in any promotion.

I also just realized that all these guys except Breeze are 4-7 years older than Reigns and riddled with injuries. Not exactly future main event material.

Reigns "action hero" gimmick would be a million times better if they just had him do action movie clichés all the time, walking away from explosions without looking back, avenging his friend who was "one day from retirement" etc.

12 Rounds 4: VENGEANCE REIGNS!

I've been on the Reigns bandwagon from jump but I thought he was going to get by on swagger instead of being stupid and working hard in the ring.  He's far surpassed my expectations.  His biggest weaknesses are the writing and that he does what he's told.

Also, WWE's reluctance to move forward already.  Top faces going into Summerslam are a broke down Undertaker and a broken nose Cena.

I think the mentality that guys are "getting too old to be the future" needs to go away. With the infinite hours of television WWE has, no one is going to have more than a 3-4 year shelf life tops before fans move on. Getting older respected guys who can still wrestle at the top of their game for a few years is the way to go. Cena is the last Guy.

Two guys =/= the whole of DVDVR.

If Gregg wants to bait people with that, he should go do it at Wreddit where it wouldn't actually be a strawman.

I totally agree. However, saying things like "Disliked because of no indy cred" is just as pretentious. How about if, in general, we don't make claims about why people like or dislike things for them? How about if we wait until they explain their position rather than saying incredibly pretentious garbage about how people underrate Reigns or Charlotte because they didn't spend time in New Japan's dojo or in Shimmer?

You're not the topic. The topic is these silly assumptions that people make. You can stop posting attention-starved posts about how much you hate being the topic now.

I don't think Roman is good, but he's not terrible. He's just sort of mediocre. The match with Show that everyone loves was passable, but Show is still pretty good anyway (just really overexposed). The Bryan match is probably still his best singles match. However, he's pretty much in the Sheamus/Orton/Neville mold where he's having competent matches that aren't particularly good or bad, just forgettable and somewhat dull. He's definitely a step above his Shield mates, two guys who actively turn me off in ring, for what that's worth, but he's definitely not as good as guys like Rusev or Cesaro or Big E.

Honestly, they should run Reigns/Rusev and Reigns/Big E because I bet those matches would be awesome and Reigns might get better by osmosis.

Indeed! The fact is that the only people that don't like Roman are the sort that go to Pentagon jr.s' house for kitten-eating parties.

To recap: the majority of the folks here who didn't like Roman main eventing WM explicitly argued that they just thought that he needed more time working singles matches and a less obvious "YOU HAVE TO LIKE THIS GUY" push. Now that he's had more time working singles matches and they dialed back on the push, people have less of an issue with him. That...kind of sounds like exactly what folks here said in the first place. Weird.

I don't like Reigns as a face of the company type. It's not his looks or his wrestling. His wrestling is fine Big Guy WWE stuff.

His promos, while improving in the sense of poise and delivery, are somehow worse for it. We don't need Samoan Cena yet here he is and you can belee dat. I can't put my finger on why but it was somehow less awful when he really couldn't promo. Now he's out there delivering this Cena adjace nonsense with the utmost confidence. He's a no for me as The Man. As close to the man? Sure. But he's not an ace.

Reigns and Ambrose as Buddy Cops works so well it almost writes itself.

Reigns is going to be an awesome heel when/if they turn him. It's that heel character that will win over the hardcore fans that hate on him now. The women are going to cheer him regardless, and the kids don't really seem to care. I have no idea why they haven't turned him already outside of protecting Rollins' spot who I think is badly exposed in his role as top heel. I still don't see Reigns becoming the babyface ace with his current character there just isn't enough to it. Until they get the audience invested in Reigns' journey to become champion his title win is going to met with apathy and rejection.
