Who else (besides me) knew that is a cover of a song written in the 60s by Burt Bacharach (and Hal David)? I always thought this song would be one of the ones to provoke a "I didn't know that was a cover" reaction.

Well, duh. You were the person who copped to not knowing for a long time that Joan Jett's I Love Rock n Roll was a cover. I think "songs you loved that you didn't know were a cover for years after first hearing the song" is an interesting side discussion for this topic.
