We talk about the genesis of The Atlanta Boys, the legendary Uncle Sammy Kent, Georgia All-Star Wrestling road stories, Center Stage Theater being turned on it’s ass, the hate/hate relationship between WCW & The Atlanta Boys, Joe Pedicino & Olu Oliyami, Max Andrews, GWF history, Scott’s time in WCW, Steve’s time in ECW, and a lot more. In Watts's defense, I have it on good authority (I'm friends with the co-writer of his autobiography) that 2016 Watts is far more openminded than 1993 Watts, and would never call anyone a fag. That doesn't excuse his behavior before, but it's nice to know he's learned his lesson.

Mr. Donnie's name pops up around Christmas time when he and his biker club, I guess, sponsors a Toys For Tots show with some promotion in Atlanta.  Which is amazing cause he looked like death when I was a little kid.

Also, a Billy Black appearance this weekend in the corner of Joel Deaton and Steve "The Brawler" Lawler:

http://gwhnewsandnotes.blogspot.com/2016/03/southern-fried-championship-wrestling_13.html

Deaton doesn't seem very pleased with the opinion of his match.

I couldn't tell if Regal was asking Eaton to be his tag partner or his life partner. Good gravy.

I was at that ECW show with Big Vin/212... Sabu definitely made the first move but Vin didn't sell it because he obviously didn't expect Sabu to do something like that, and he was a big boy to begin with (think Marcel before the Crossfit kick if Cel was even bigger). Public Enemy gave him their hockey jersey at the next show to smooth things over, leading to Vin's immortal response: "I would fuck in this jersey!"

Great show. Paul E. is the fucking man and I love that they ran an angle on a clip show with no actual wrestlers.

That was one of the craziest weeks ever for Japanese wrestling between stadium shows for NJPW/FMW/WING and Vader in UWFI... I just happened to start buying the puro mags that week and there were tons of awesome shows up across the board. My co-workers at the tape house mail room were so depressed seeing Leon Spinks "throw the fight" for Veritchev.
