Kris is joined by Beau James (King of Kingsport) to discuss July 1987-mid May 1988 in Continental Championship Wrestling, Continental Wrestling Federation, & USA Championship Wrestling as yes the promotions have split. We go into a deep discussion of how the split took place with some interesting stories about all the characters involved. We talk about all the major angles of the era and just who was booking what and who wasn’t. We talk returns and exits along with debuts such as Eddie Gilbert making his first foray into this area. Truly an amazing show with stuff you have never heard on a podcast before!!!!!

I was curious about Katsuji Kai and checked the Japanese wiki entry for the battle royal: It's a misreading of the kanji for Shoji (Syoji whatever) Kai another name for Motoyuki Kitazawa. He had several names throughout his career but seems like he used Kai in his heyday and then as a ref used Kitazawa.

Not helping thing is NJPW using both Katsuji for the Japanese page but Syoji for their English page of his entry into their (whatever happened to that, by the way?) Hall of Fame.

Bix lies- BIXELVISION was totally a thing back then. It's to his eternal credit than things turned around. We kid because we love.

Re luchadores taking off after losing their mask... Cien Caras is #1 with a bullet. I mean all of the Dinamitas were good looking guys, but Cien in particular looked like Ricardo Montalban and he was unmasked right as the lucha TV boom was starting in Mexico.

Re PR wrestling names, that list starts and ends with PETER THE BAD ROMANCE.

Re ECW/WAR, Tommy Dreamer actually did work that Sumo Hall show. This was right after Lawler busted his testicle and he could barely move, but A+ for effort nonetheless.

Kris & Beau talk about the last 6 months+ of the Continental Wrestling Federation in the last part of this miniseries on Exile on Badstreet, spanning from May to November 1989. We talk about how the signs were coming that the promotion was dying, Robert Fuller coming back home to book, new additions to the roster but some old angles that people had seen before, plus Beau gives his thoughts on the best and worst in the history of the promotion. This is a bittersweet, but great show so check it out!!!!
