Listening to the second Crockett episode. Has inspired me to watch more 1988 NWA (I started watching as a kid in 1989).

Watched the Bash last night. Fun fun show.

Loving these podcasts. Keep it up.

Kris is joined by Graham Cawthon (The History of WWE) & Parv (Titans of Wrestling) to discuss the Battles of Bob Backlund from 1980-83 where we go over his opponents in depth. We discuss the good, the bad, and the really ugly of the motley crew of opponents he was given and in the end we discuss who we thought should've been the one to defeat him for the title!!!

Love the Bob podcast (Bobcast?). Re the Grand Wizard, another reason the heat was always on his charges was because he never interfered directly in their matches- even the deal with the riding crop was just him handing it off to Sarge who did the deed himself. From a kayfabe standpoint it was like he had enough faith in his men to get the job done themselves.

Kris is joined by Good Ol’ Will (Pro Wrestling Only) & Phil Schneider (Segunda Caida) to discuss some of the Living Legends from Memphis Wrestling. We talk about the differences between Handsome & Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant, Dream Machine’s pharmacy visits, Stan Lane & Steve Keirn as ass kickers, and we even cast a Jerry Lawler & Brian Christopher Brazzers film!!!!

Though I'm not familiar with the promo, is the song Dream Machine quote Who Do You Love by Bo Diddley/George Thorogood?

I walked 47 miles of barbed wire

I've got a cobra snake for a necktie

A brand new house along the roadside
And it's a made out of rattlesnake hide

And the missing details of the Tommy Rich mug story was that

apparently his dong looked like a pepperoni pizza and that when he put it in the peroxide cup all the open sores were foaming.

Kris and co-host Dylan Hales are joined by Al Getz (WHOO Wrestling) and “Reverend” Dan “the Dragon” Wilson (Midnight Black Mass) to discuss the Scenic City Invitational and NWA Wildside/Anarchy over the years. Listen to the guys discuss each first round matchup in the tournament and how everyone is slotted, plus what they bring to the table. Dylan also gives his picks for each matchup. As an added bonus, we have some issues with a fugitive showing up in one of the guest’s yards at the beginning of the show!

Another fun listen.

Notes:

Faster Pussycat did the Al Snow Yer So Vain theme

I think the Headhunters worked as the Abdullah Brothers on some Australian promotion.

I'm pretty sure the guy who took the chokeslam at the ecw arena was arena mutant Dreads

Also, wasn't the Memphis stuff where one of the SMW guys told Doug Gilbert he could prop Eddie's body up in the corner for moral support? Shocked that didn't come up...

- What were the reasons Bobby couldn't manage Flair/Perfect?

- I did a quick search and someone seems to imply that Toyota was upset about losing so challenges Yamada to the title and hair match.... not much details other than that.
