The only reason for them to work with groups like FIFA is prestige. If they feel they're being hurt by the association, they don't need anybody. Blatter is not the root of all evil, it´s one of the branches connected to the roots of corruption within an organisation dealing with football affairs where almost nobody has any closer connection to football than the monthly money transfer they receive due to it, maybe in combination with the occasional extra-pay. The corruption runs so deep and is so old that you can't just chop off the head and expect everything to be okay.
