On what planet is John Wall better than Kyrie Irving? Certainly not this planet.

 

The planet where they play basketball games.

 

Maybe Kyrie will be better one day but he's got to prove he can defend, that he can make people better and that he can stay healthy. Until he knocks those 3 down, Wall is the better player.

 

 

The only thing Kyrie already isn't better at is defending and granted, he has a lot of work to do there. I could maybe concede that Wall is a better passer, but Irving has never been surrounded with shooters the quality of those that Wall has had around him.

There was LeBron, in one instance I witnessed from right behind the bench, shaking his head vociferously in protest after one play Blatt drew up in the third quarter of Game 5, amounting to the loudest nonverbal scolding you could imagine.

How is any fellow Cavalier going to treat Blatt with something resembling reverence when LeBron treats him like a bench ornament in plain view?

They discussed this a bunch on TrueHoop. Blatt's insecurity hurt him but LeBron tried to pull a bunch of this shit early in Miami and Riley wouldn't put up with it. He backed Spo, he wouldn't let LeBron's boys on the plane and he made him adapt to the style Miami wanted to play.

 

All this is exactly the biggest thing I point to as to why Lebron will never truly be respected for the supremely talented player he is.  I've said it before, but who wants to get behind someone that acts like the kid on the team whose dad owns the rec center?

Not to excuse this if this is true, but other players have behaved this way and went so far as to get coaches fired.

 

So much that is seen as a LeBron problem is really a superstar problem.  Hell, non-superstars behave the same way at times.

Kyrie is pretty much only better than Wall at shooting jumpers and dribbling.  The around the rim stuff is a wash.  Wall smokes him at defense, passing and athleticism.  

 

Love, Jr and Lebron is a better array of shooters than anything Wall has had to work with.
