TheVileOne Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Chris Weidman plays Punch Drunk Love with Katie Nolan.
Hail Sabin Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 He also on that show said he rejected his All American nickname a few years ago but no one listened to him. 1
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 I heard Colby Covington's handlers wanted to bring him up slow. Well, Mike Pyle is a giant step up from a guy is basically .500 right now who washed out of TUF Brazil and random TUF China washout guy. This is like a boxing prospect going from fighting 4 rounders against dudes who install hardwood floors for a living to an ex title contender in their first ten rounder. Mike Pyle ain't a world beater, but he can still fuck your day up if you've never been at that level.
TheVileOne Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Unless it's an older, slower and declining Mike Pyle.
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 Yeah, I am guessing that is what they're hoping for because otherwise we could see some apple cart tipping. Speaking of young prospects, I was listening to Cheap Seats earlier today. According to Greg Savage, people at AKA are really talking up Islam Makhachev as the next guy up. Someone said he might be better than Khabib. That's a ton of pressure to put on someone.
TheVileOne Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 If Belfort wins, I hope Rockhold whines his way out of a title shot, and the shot goes to Jacare.
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 This PPV will be available for purchase on DISH after their agreement with the UFC was renewed.
TheVileOne Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Was Weidman going on about those drug test results Brett Okamoto posted earlier at the weigh-ins?
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Combate put out a story and Okamoto tweeted about it yesterday as well. Apparently, Weidman already commented on that this morning.
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Also, Nina Ansaroff decided against trying to cut anymore weight to get down to 115. She may get Alexis Dufresne'd out of the UFC.
Hail Sabin Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Well we know the UFC was already rooting for Rose to win now they are just rooting even harder for Rose to win. 1
TheVileOne Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Combate put out a story and Okamoto tweeted about it yesterday as well. Apparently, Weidman already commented on that this morning. I saw Okamoto's tweets. He also said Belfort's levels were fine but said they were higher than Weidman's. I guess that's suspicious if was "diagnosed" with "low testosterone" before he started taking synthetic test and now that he's allegedly off it...his test levels are now higher? Also saw somewhere that Weidman's looked low and he's in his early 30s...so...whatever I guess.
hammerva Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 So, what's our plan when Vitor wins the strap? Wait until he is stripped of the title because of a failed drug test?
Joe Lucia Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Strawweight fight is off. Ansaroff apparently has the flu.
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Namajunas vs. Ansaroff is off due to Ansaroff being deemed medically unfit. Ansaroff contracted the flu during fight week. Pyle vs. Covington has been moved up to the FS1 prelims.
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 The world needs a Gennady Golovkin and Khabib Nurmagomedov sitcom w/ Khabib's father being the goofy dad. 1
TheVileOne Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I mean, he made his son wrestle bears...doesn't get much goofier than that. 1
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Someone should have told poor Leo Kuntz about Islam Makhachev. That choke finish was nasty. 1
Jiji Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Holy shit, that was hilarious. Travis Browne's legs were buckling for the majority of the fight.
