pipGofern
Yeah the spontaneous standing O for Kelly was the highlight of the draft so far.

Kuetsar
That TItans/Eagles offer looks like something a hollywood writer or something you would do on Madden. Chip Kelly doesn't have real life cheat codes to take scrubs and alter their values to make superstars does he? Because that would explain alot. Another though occurs: Whatever the merit of all the investigations and scandals against Jameis Winston, might not it have been a good idea to get him away from Florida? Tabe
Love the Funchess pick. Why? He was a pretty consistent underperformer at Michigan. Good news is he's used to wildly inaccurate QBs who have no idea where the ball is going.
Death From Above
Packers have put two CB's and a speed demon receiver/kick returner/gadget play weapon for Rodgers in the bank through three rounds, I can live with this.
FluffSnackwell
Eh, the Cowboys will certainly be better off gambling on some habitual toker pass rusher with a late 2nd rounder than the Dolphins were wasting the 3rd overall pick on some glorified physical freak specimen like Dion Jordan several drafts ago. I feel pretty safe in saying Gregory's floor will be as a solid situational pass rusher as effective as Bruce Irvin and the latter cost the Seahawks the 15th pick; not bad for the 60th pick granted he's not a total toking idiotic jackass like Josh Gordon that puff, puff passes his way out of the league. His ceiling on-the-field will be Charles Haley; but hopefully without all those charming quirks Haley exhibited off the field.
glfpunk
Yeah well that's his floor- that he completely fucks up and gets suspended into being irrelevant. But the upside is big and it's a calculated risk. I don't love the pick but I don't hate it either.
FluffSnackwell
Well, it's a better pick than another spare tight end; that's something at least. I like the philosophy so far; defense and blockers. You can never have enough quality O-line depth. I'm still unimpressed with the gimps that comprise the running backs corps but let's just say they don't draft a decent one. I'd take that as a big tip-off they know something we don't about their prospects of trading for Adrian Peterson.
glfpunk
I sincerely hope they don't trade for Peterson. He costs too much. I'd much rather roll with Randle and McFadden and maybe depth in the draft than trade for Peterson at his age with his ridiculous contract. They're making too many smart moves to do something stupid like that.
FluffSnackwell
In that case, I expect the onus is going to be on Randle. I'm highly skeptical a guy like McFadden who ran with a case of the drizzles for three seasons can just be magically rejuvenated by a change of scenery. As far as Peterson goes, I think he's a player capable of performing at a high level for at least three more seasons. Cap hell is something they certainly need to avoid; agreed........ but if they're all in on winning a ring with Romo I think Peterson's remaining arc as an elite player lines up with when Romo will also be physically deteriorated. I mean it's not like the organization is that forward thinking; they don't have a clue who the next man up will be after Romo if and when worse comes to worse. glfpunk
I just don't think Peterson is necessary. I'm not sold on him being the elite of the elite at his age after sitting out this length of time.

Good news is he's used to wildly inaccurate QBs who have no idea where the ball is going. Because they're actually addressing a position of present need? Not sure I'm stoked about the trade up, but he, Benjamin and Olsen is a nice set of options in the passing game.
JLSigman
I feel a lot better than Veeg does about the pick. The linebacking core of Thomas Davis, Luke Kuechly, and Shaq Thompson is going to be insane. Also Shaq can play SS which is another position of need. He has really good cover skills and potentially fills two needs with one pick. Exactly. We needed a potential Kraken replacement and now we have him. I can live with this.
FluffSnackwell
I just don't think Peterson is necessary. I'm not sold on him being the elite of the elite at his age after sitting out this length of time. I agree with that to the extent that the risk for a major injury (which would be career-threatening at this point) increases exponentially after missing an entire season. But if he were able to avoid that, it's just running the damn football. I mean the guy will absolutely be in his physical prime for another three to five years. To that end, McFadden is the polar opposite of that; during his career so far he seems to be made out of toilet paper and plays like shit. He had a 1,150-yard season five years ago but just to show how long ago that was Felix Jones also had 1,250 yards from scrimmage on 233 touches; mostly operating within the confines of a Jon Kitna-led offense. Ancient history. As for Randle, I expect he'll be another Felix where the big runs will evaporate or go away entirely once he's asked to haul the wagon instead of being able to leech off a lead back tenderizing the defense. Of course that’s true for most change-of-pace backs once they’re asked to take on the lion’s share. To that end, they ought to be kicking the tires on Zac Stacy and see if he can be had for relative peanuts. Sure, he won’t even have half the capability to break long runs that DeMarco possessed but he’d seem to make an ideal tenderizer bellcow-type who would at least help set up defenses for the other backs in the stable to come in and pop the explosive runs. Whoever they end up getting, they’re definitely in the right not reaching for a running back so far. A guy who has swing tackle capabilities is much more valuable to grab with a 3rd round pick than a back that would likely be no more than a by-committee type.
