Cobra Commander
Stupid question but if you go to rain delay in the top of the 9th with the game tied, why not just call the game and pick it up when tomorrow's game is scheduled then pick up the next like an hour after the first ends? which is what will happen. Weather permitting. MLB.com is proud of their bench clearing brawls. They put them all up on the site. they're slacking. They could post more brawls on YouTube or their in-house media. Fun for them to post clips of suspension-worthy offenses and such. Everybody loves a skirmish.
Joe Lucia
Lucia, please to explain your new Facebook profile picture. Love the now-dead cap. Wore it to the game on Wednesday. It worked.
Cobra Commander
We got more suspensions! Ventura: 7 games (swearing/rustling jimmies) Volquez: 5 games (swinging at a guy) Samardzija: 5 games (charging an opposing player multiple times) Sale: 5 games (getting in the scrum and then trying to get into the other teams clubhouse later to fight) Cain: 2 games (the events involving him and Samardzija) Herrera: 2 games (no fucking idea what he did, an unidentified Royal apparently kicked Melky Cabrera in the ass) Tyler Flowers got a fine. Adam Eaton didn't get anything. Two Sox starters and Volquez will stagger their suspensions to pitch, miss 5, and pitch.
Craig H
Again, at least if you're a pitcher, why not fight when you're likely to not miss anything.
Cobra Commander
yeah, Sale and Samardzija could pitch, accept a suspension, miss 5 games and pitch the game directly after the suspension ends.
Joe Lucia
And that assumes that nether appeals and gets it knocked down by a game or two...
piranesi
No more suspensions. It's time for the "teach Greg Brady a lesson about smoking" technique. You enjoy baseballs hitting people? Well then you get all the baseballs hitting people you want. You stand here in front of this guy and you can go home when all the baseballs are gone:
Niners Fan in CT
Atlanta dipping down to .500 now. Will the Mets actually run away with this division. Ugh.
Cobra Commander
And that assumes that nether appeals and gets it knocked down by a game or two... yeah, the 3 starters getting 5 games are probably gonna drop the appeals at a strategic time since giving a starter a 4 game suspension means they'd miss 0 action. Chicago probably slides Rodon into a rotation and uses 6 guys to get thru their suspensions (Samardzija, Sale, Quintana, Danks, Noesi, Rodon, Samardzija, Sale). KC could get Chris Young a start to make it thru suspensions depending on if Yordano's suspension drops to 6 games instead of 7. Chris Young is one of those guys that is good for some inexplicably good starts because he got 18 flyball outs in 7 innings. In other words, he's great when he's not allowing home runs. hammerva
Scary situation in Baltimore as apparently people had to stay in Camden Yards after the game because of protests concerning the Freddy Gray death. Sucks for them but really smart move because the crowd is still decent size and the last thing it needed was about 20,000 converge at the same time

Joe Lucia
Waino was the Posey-esque sacrificial lamb for the DH in the NL. (Won't...make...classy...joke....) Awful for baseball, because he's a joy to watch on the hill. Terrible that he got hurt doing something the Cardinals aren't paying him $19.5 million to do. Hoffman
All is well in Cardinal Nation. Nothing to see here, folks. Hey, the last time Wainwright was out for the year, the Cardinals won the World Series. Time once again to unleash that classy brand of scrappiness. RIPPA
Josh Hamilton to the Rangers is official The Rangers announced today that they have re-acquired outfielder Josh Hamilton from the Angels in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. The Rangers will also be receiving cash from the Angels, the team added, and previous reports have indicated that Texas will be on the hook for less than $7MM of the money that is he owed. The Erotic Terrorist
If you're a manager going on a profanity laced tirade, then you need to end it with "and print it!" I thankfully have known of Lee Elia's meltdown for years but I still think it's classic. Scary situation in Baltimore as apparently people had to stay in Camden Yards after the game because of protests concerning the Freddy Gray death. Those protests are still going on so wisely they decided to postpone tonight's game with the White Sox in Baltimore.
RIPPA
The gates at Camden Yards had actually been opened and rioters where trying to break there were in so the cops ordered the gates shut - so yeah... postponing was almost a necessity
