Like they are putting back up the Coliseum Videos from the looks of it and seems like a few of them are new but can't remember. But weren't those shows were on Wednesday nights? I'd watch those with my old man as he glanced over his paper and have a blast. But there's a lot of cool stuff, Sting getting kicked out of the Horsemen by Ole and Flair, Vader putting Flair out on a stretcher job, Luger sneak attacking Sting and then Sting having to return from the hospital to defend against Rick Rude the same night, The Hollywood Blondes vs. the Horsemen, Steamboat returning and teaming with Dustin, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

NikoBaltimore Posted August 21, 2019 Share Posted August 21, 2019 As tempted as I am to see the WCW Saturday Night shows that they recently put on there I instead am starting from the beginning. it's pretty wild seeing that while still filmed at Center Stage it was essentially a talk show that had matches from other arenas. And they had rotating co-hosts to boot which can be either fine or darn near cringe-worth (Jason Hervey is an example) I'll be curious to see when the format changes but I'm loving it so far. it also helps that I really started to get into WCW in '93 so it's going to be nice to see those episodes again when I get to that point. So I'm pretty much set on going through all the episodes. Now I will admit that I'm kind of cheating as I'm only cherry-picking the stuff I most want to see. So while I don't need to see a boring squash match I may be more likely to check out Austin-Windham 2/3 falls match (that's assuming it's amazing as I haven't gotten to that part yet) Now if we're talking when I started as a kid I just know it was sometime in early/mid '93. I will say that I'm really loving the Steamboat vs. Rude feud and how much focus they're putting on it. They're insinuating he's stalking Medusa and is having an affair. Which leads to them interviewing Rude at Center Stage. So as he's answering fan questions a woman says that she too is with Steamboat which turns into a couple of them arguing who really is having with him. That's all well and good but what caught me off-guard was there was liberal use of the word "slut" being thrown around. I'm assuming the show aired at 6:05 so it's interesting that that was okay with WCW/TBS given the timeslot. It's wacky as hell but I love it. And while there's certainly some over-the-top elements to the shows there's also a sense of realism that makes it very easy to get into. Also is the first the first guy that has been featured on a WWE show that never worked in the WWF/WWE. I would absolutely love to hang out with Hansen, Rowe and Sarah as they seem like awesome people. And Becky and Seth seemed like much more of a couple despite the scripted format of the show.
