smitlick
First card in ages that I'll watch the whole thing including prelims. Looks great.
Elsalvajeloco
According to an interview Brazilian reporters Evelyn Rodrigues, Marcelo Russio, and Ivan Raupp did today, Anderson admitted it was his own protege and undefeated RFA fighter Khalil Rountree who knocked him out with a kick a few weeks ago. Edit: Well it seems like he was joking: http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/1/28/7934221/anderson-silva-laughs-off-rumors-he-was-knocked-out-in-training
Jiji
Well, if it was just a way of hyping Rountree, he got me because I loved what I saw in the youtube videos. Khalil's handspeed, power and footwork even in his amateur fights are pretty damned good.
Elsalvajeloco
Yeah, I am thinking he is UFC bound if he can win 2-3 more fights.

That sounds like an awesome actor's name.
Elsalvajeloco
If he doesn't come out to "Son of Shaft" for his first UFC fight, I will be very disappointed.
Elsalvajeloco
Apparently, Kelvin Gastelum had a bad weight cut and went to the hospital. However, the fight is still on as now.
Elsalvajeloco
Gastelum is going to miss weight and take the 20% purse hit instead of attempting to cut anymore weight.
Elsalvajeloco
Woodley tweeted that Gastelum is nine pounds over.
Jiji
Woodley also mentioned in the latest UFC Embedded that he's 10 pounds lighter than usual at this stage and feels great. So, one guy hospitalized from a bad cut and the other energetic from a great cut.
Elsalvajeloco
Lineker is also 5 pounds off and will not try to cut again. I assuming that's the end of him at 125.
TheVileOne
What the fucking hell? This is Lineker's FOURTH time missing weight. Five pounds over, he should be fucking fired. I like Gastelum but this is No. 2 for him. This happens because fighters try to cut 15-20 pounds on fight week, which is idiotic.
Elsalvajeloco
Gastelum is just not built to make 170 moreso than Alves, Anthony Johnson, and other guys in the past who had problems make 170. He is one of the few guys in MMA who has a boxing body (the highest weights; 154 and up) where all his weight is concentrated around his mid-section. He isn't even fat. It's just the way he is built. Those others guy were just muscular as hell.
TheVileOne
It's just sad. Lineker should be fired. Even if he wins.
Elsalvajeloco
Gastelum and Lineker will be both fined 30% instead.
smitlick
Both should be banned from competing at the attempted weights. Embarrassing stuff
Elsalvajeloco
Yeah, Dana said they are both moving up.
TheVileOne
What he didn't say is that Lineker is moving up in WSOF or Bellator MMA .

Jiji
Hmm, maybe throwing out a random combat roll in the middle of a fight ain't a good idea. Also, I think I heard Joe Rogan's heart crush the second that kick landed.

Jiji
Well, that was interesting. Not the same Anderson, but it would be naive to expect the same out of a guy who's coming back from a disgusting injury and is approaching 40.
