Fat Spanish Waiter Posted August 6, 2013 Author Posted August 6, 2013 (also Punk/Lesnar is gonna be the dogs bollocks)
MGFanJay Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Good show at times, but it really dragged on. They're hyping up Bryan-Cena being the little guy vs. the big corporation, which is good in theory, but has some hiccups with the execution. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2013/08/raw-8-5-13.html Screens - http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/c19it6cis994vws8biz5ezv5aix8c2tp
piranesi Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Congratulations, FSW. This entire main event was booked by you.
rzombie1988 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I reviewed Raw with pics and gifs here:http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/wwe-monday-night-raw-852013-results-and.htmlOverall thoughts:Not a real good one here. There were too many quick matches and I didn't think the angles and storylines were enough to make up for it.Some shots from the show:
eikerir Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Enjoyed Bryan and Cena both going a bit "heel-ish" in their respective promos and not keep doing the whole respect thing for too long. Also loved the Punk-Brock brawl, i'm loving this feud so far, just two guys that can't be in the same building without kicking each others asses.
piranesi Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 It was so hard to follow the rules and not check early in the Omnibus thread to see just how much spooge was hitting the screen during Bryan's promo and how loudly FSW was screaming "FUCK YOU, INDY WEIRDOS" during Cena's response. Can there be any doubt that they are essentially booking this board? Entertainment Media Content! Vs. WWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRESTLING!!!!! Because I AM A WWWWWWWRRRRRRRRESTLER!!!!!!!! You want to glorify "wrestling" in a gymnasium? Glorifying "wrestling" ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE DUB DUB EEEEEEEE????? Fuck Austin V.s McMahon. This The Past vs. The Present. The Spirit of the Territories Vs. The Grotesque Reality of The Fed. The Way Things Could Have Been vs. The Way Things Will Be. The ROH vs. The FSW 1
Overly Critical Man Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 That ending was stupid. I mean, I get what they were shooting for with Orton...but that ending was stupid. 1
Hagan Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Interesting enough show. Assuming RVD gets added to the world title match? Kind of wish they had saved Del Rio's murder spot of RR for a bigger program. It looked much better than the normal ring step death.
cool arrow Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Not entirely sure what the point of Dolph losing to Big E was. Or the two of them wrestling on "free" tv, for that matter. And there was no logical reason to have The Shield standing over the two people in the title match.
hammerva Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 "Paul, say something stupid". And then Paul proceeded to say something stupid So are we going to get an inferno match between Kane and Bray Wyatt 2
piranesi Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 And there was no logical reason to have The Shield standing over the two people in the title match. I was fine with that. Sadly, most of the match The Shield showed themselves to have been solidified as heels who can only threaten, but not really hurt, the true top Faces. So, like so many scrubs before them, they were just a minor distraction to what the actual guys were doing. It's never a good sign when the Faces are so busy fighting each-other that they barely have time to bother swatting you away. So I was happy to see them get a little heat back? 1
Stevie Ray Von Erich Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Dolph jobbed to a Diva skirmish tonight. His feud with Big E really is just dressing for the AJ/K8lyn feud.
Charlie M. Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Not entirely sure what the point of Dolph losing to Big E was. Or the two of them wrestling on "free" tv, for that matter. And there was no logical reason to have The Shield standing over the two people in the title match. It wasn't about The Shield, it was about Orton being out for himself. Good show but I would have liked a longer Main Event.
pipGofern Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 CM Punk is such an uncoordinated dork. I once saw Curt Hennig return to the Royal Rumble after a three year hiatus and with a guy holding each leg and twisted backwards at a 45 degree angle, he STILL managed to swat his gum perfectly. Punk missed by a mile from an Indian Deathlock. How embarrassing. 6
piranesi Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 "Paul, say something stupid". And then Paul proceeded to say something stupid So are we going to get an inferno match between Kane and Bray Wyatt How great was it the Punk mentioned Heenan's family, and then we got such a Heenan family post-match group backstage interview. I fucking LOVED that. 1
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted August 6, 2013 Author Posted August 6, 2013 No-one compares favourably to Perfect.
piranesi Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 How FUCKING DARE Cena invoke hard times:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxC3oAD1iUgNo, sir. No, sir. NO, SIR! He was even doing the accent a little. Someone watching Youtube backstage? 4
cool arrow Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Not entirely sure what the point of Dolph losing to Big E was. Or the two of them wrestling on "free" tv, for that matter. And there was no logical reason to have The Shield standing over the two people in the title match. It wasn't about The Shield, it was about Orton being out for himself. Then Orton should've been standing triumphant. Unless tomorrow night they're doing some kind of rematch, that is.
Overly Critical Man Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 To Cena, hard times is when they forget to perfectly heat the water in his giant slip n slide pool inside his humongous mansion where he hangs out with his trophy diva of the week. 1
piranesi Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 You guys are fucking enablers. This entire pay-per-view is now devoted to the triumph of your world view.
Rev Ray Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I kept on thinking Vince was saying he didn't want Daniel to be the WB champion. AmDrag v. Michigan J Frog! 1
Overly Critical Man Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Dolph is now firmly established as Kaitlyn's sidekick. It's just too bad he's on the same level as Layla instead of Big E.
