BobbyWhioux
What is that in reference to? when your kid dies, Nationwide is on your side. Nationwide had to kill your kid to teach you a lesson about letting Nationwide Be On Your Side.

pipGofern
Did anybody follow Carroll's explanation for that idiotic playcall? He just said a bunch of words but I don't think any of them made sense.

piranesi
I suppose if there was anything left of his face and head, a post-game interview with Oberyn Martell would have made nearly as much sense.
Brian Fowler
He felt going three wide when the Pats left the goal line group in would open up a pass. Fairly logical but allow me to retort BEAST MODE
Burgundy LaRue
Did anybody follow Carroll's explanation for that idiotic playcall? The Man Known as Dan
I think it's because he has no explanation and the moment the ball was picked his mind with blank with no other thoughts but "I'manidiotimanidiotimanidiot" and it hasn't stopped playing yet. The Nature Boy
From what I gathered: Pete Carroll wanted to intentionally force a 3rd and 4th down so he could run the clock down so the Pats couldn't get the ball back. What a dumb fucking move.
EVA
Pete Carroll's explanation makes no fucking sense. It kinda does. When you go 3 wide and the defense stays in GL, of course you're going to take the passing opportunity. That's a huge advantage for the offense.Doesn't really answer why you get in shotgun in the first place, but I would guess they were looking to go with some form of option play at first and audibled when they got the look. dogwelder
I just think Carroll wanted to be too cutesy at the goal line expecting that the Pats were expecting Lynch to ram it in.
