Hail Sabin Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I remember I bought many DVDs partly for just the Jacobs/Lacey storyline to see how it progressed.
hammerva Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I loved that the end of the Jacobs vs Whitmer match at Supercard of Honor featured Lacey saving Jimmy, an embrace, and then leaving out to the Jimmy Loves Lacey song. I am not sure if the California crowd got the history behind it but this would have over huge in NY or Chicago shows.
Ace Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Can't believe it's been 9 years since Jimmy Jacobs was involved in one of the greatest angles in ROH history: Man I was a huge fan back then. I didn't stick around that much after AotF and after a couple of the PPV's. Allegedly, they played the song as Jimmy's farewell last week.
NikoBaltimore Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Any videos surface of that? That would be so awesome to see.
Big Fresh Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Any videos surface of that? That would be so awesome to see. Surely it'll be on the DVD.
Nice Guy Eddie Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Some pictures from from Jacobs farewell I pulled off ROHWorld. Much like Drake Younger, I'm really happy for Jacobs now having a job in wrestling that doesn't require him to kill his body for our enjoyment. I loved the progression of Jimmy Loves Lacey, Lacey Loves Jimmy, and the Age of the Fall. I would love to see some of Jacobs work make it to WWE TV. Hopefully, he'll get to write some stuff for Rollins. 1
Stay Gold Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 My friend told me about this and I went bonkers for it. I was a huge Jacobs fan back in the day and loved the Jimmy/Lacey stuff. Gotta seek out Supercard to watch this.
cool arrow Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Spoiler(s) from tonight's taping in San Antonio: Daniels & Kazarian beat Re-Dragon to win the tag belts, which makes me very happy and I really hope they do the "world tag team champions of the world" deal again. Also the KRD turn out to be Daniels, Kazarian, and Chris Sabin.
Spritenaut 32 Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Glad they did the KRD reveal. Those videos they were running were so low rent, I couldn't take them seriously. Dear ROH: next time you do an angle like that, please try to make the videos look like something other than a commercial that wold air on the local UHF station circa 3 AM Sunday morning, 1982.

That would require ROH not being owned by Sinclair. 1
Technico Support Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 The line of the night of this past weekend's ROH goes to Corino. Commenting on the returning (from injury) Ray Rowe: "Rowe looks great, just got out of jail." 2
NikoBaltimore Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I love Steve Corino, guy really is underrated. He brings the comedy but it's generally amusing, and he adds to the matches. 1
Dewar Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Other than his stint where he was screaming about SCUM all the time, Corino has been a damned good color commentator. Definitely a guy WWE should consider bringing in. 2
Web Conn Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Didn't Corino get a try out on Metal 14 years back or something like that?
Big Fresh Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I know I've heard him tell a story about a try-out as a writer he did. Which went kind of like this... "This part you just wrote 'Punk cuts a promo'. But you didn't actually write what he's going to say!" "Punk knows how to cut his own promos. I don't need to write them for him." "But how will he know what to say?????" 3
A Guy Named Tracy Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 ROH and NJPW have absolutely loaded their War of the Worlds and Global Wars cards. NJPW is sending over Shinsuke Nakamura, Tanahashi, Naito, Okada, Gedo, Takaaki Watanabe, Liger, and Kushida. It may be wishful thinking, but it would be nice to see some NJPW vs NJPW match-ups.

I remember hearing a story that they found his blade scars hideous and just didnt want someone with a forehead like that being a talking head.
clintthecrippler Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Stupid drunk posting. Didnt put together you posted about a writer tryout, the story I posted was about a commentator tryout.
cool arrow Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Tonight's TV is Lethal vs. Liger and Briscoe vs. Joe from Mania weekend. Should be good. 1
Peck Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I like Bobby Cruise but the substitute ring announcer stole the show this week. 1
DreamBroken Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Just started getting this on my cable. Super cool to catch Liger on, full entrance and all. Pretty good match vs Lethal.
Patrick B. Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Never thought I'd miss Corino, but Adam Cole couldn't have sounded more bored/disinterested on commentary. 1
