Virtualpros
If it comes to your town, you should definitely check out The Great Sasuke doc. Had a chance to see it last night and it far exceeded my expectations. Also got to meet the man -- teen dreams do come true sometimes.
Ryan
Quote All Japan Pro Wrestling is expected to announce later today that former Triple Crown champion Joe Doering,33, was diagnosed on 2/25 with a Stage 3 brain tumor. Doering underwent successful surgery to remove it on 3/4 and is slated to begin chemotherapy and radiation therapy begin next week. Doering is hopeful he'll be able to return to the ring. Credit: Mike Johnson at PWInsider Best of luck to Doering, that's shitty all around.
Eivion
Damn and he was just coming back. I'm glad it was caught in time. Hopefully his health improves.
Evil Otto
Yeah, they got him into surgery really quick, and that's certainly good to hear. Trying my best to consider the positives here. So sad though, the guy's had some ridiculously bad luck in the past few years. Best of luck to Joe.
Irving
I was seriously looking forward to Doering vs. Miyahara and Nomura. I'm glad it was detected and hopefully he'll recover as soon as possible.

They came up through the same thing.

lostinube
Couple shows canceled due to the earthquake that hit Kumamoto on the 14th (which would also be exacerbated by the stronger quake that hit late tonight/early this morning). Zero-1 had a show for Friday but the venue was closed due to the quake. Since they were there, they pitched in with clean up. Wrestle-1 was supposed to have a show on Sunday in Kumamoto but postponed. Not really notable but ref Emiri from VKF lives in Kumamoto and was back home when tonight's quake struck and had to rely on twitter to get information until she reached an evacuation zone. Shows scheduled in Hakata are going to go on but I'm not sure about any shows below that area.

Belgian_Waffle
***CHAMPIONS CARNIVAL SPOILER ALERT*** Possibly contentious opinion: AJPW had the right final today but the wrong finish. Don't see why Zeus couldn't go over Sekimoto in the final to further cement him as the top guy in the company alongside Miyahara. Sekimoto pinning Miyahara just to get to the final is enough to set him up as a future outsider challenger. Zeus as the "big man chasing the title" doesn't work...guys like him either have to be a monster or a comedy act. I guess they could be planning to have Zeus eventually take the belt from Miyahara and then have Sekimoto already set up as the big challenger but time is of the essence with these things and I'm afraid they've already made him out to be the big dumb guy who blows it on the big stage. Also they should really have protected Jake Lee and Naoya Nomura better in the tournament, no reason to have Yutaka Yoshie finish with 8 friggin points while your two future homegrown stars end up with one win a piece. I assume that Zeus didn't go over because Miyahara and Zeus very recently fought for the title, and they want Miyahara to carry it a little longer. yoshi's strong finish is a little baffling, though. Belgian_Waffle
oops yeah really good point. plus they probably want to save Zeus' carny win for when he actually *is* going to get the title, which likely won't be for a bit since Miyahara just won it. Wish Super Tiger had fared a little better too, he would make a good regular addition to the roster. feel like this year's tournament was begging for semi-finals so two other midcard guys could get a modest rub.
