So those Six Man titles have already changed hands three times since their inception six weeks ago. What's the point?

FWIW - Supposedly Michael Elgin has signed a two year deal with New Japan

Makes sense with Anderson and Gallows leaving. He fits there pretty well.

Kota Ibushi has just ended his NJPW/DDT dual contract to start his own promotion "Ibushi Wrestling Research Institute" (IWRI) and is now a Freelancer.

In other news:

The president of NJPW Kaname Tezuka has just resigned.
Harada Katsuhiko is the new president of NJPW!

Why am I imagining Ibushi wearing a labcoat and safety goggles while testing out new moves on dummies and teddy bears?

...because it wouldn't be all that much different from wrestling a stepladder or inflatable doll in DDT?

So is Elgin one of those ROH-NJPW folks like the Bucks or strictly NJPW?

He's just an unreal strong. He's not super nutty jacked like a bodybuilder type, but he's hyooge and strong like a strongman type. That spot where he sorta gets ready to drop his opponent on a vertical suplex, then saves it with strict power is super impressive. He could be somebody there if they play it right.

It's veterans and young lions from NJPW and NOAH against each other basically.

I really don't see the point in putting on a show to feature the young guys, and then have all of them face veterans who beats them with varying degrees of ease. Much rather see them do something like the old joshi Jr. All Stars shows where they got youngsters from all over and had them face each other.

Isn't that just going back to the nature of being a young lion/rookie in Japan? It's not so much of if you win or lose but how much of a fight you put up.

That's what it's like on the regular shows, yes. Just don't see the point in putting on a special show to feature them, and then just do more of exactly the same.
