J.T. Posted September 9, 2015 Share Posted September 9, 2015 Got past the Martial Arts Club in North Point. Got fucked up in the last round of Martial Arts Club in Central. Was pissed. Central MAC is a pain in the ass with my limited kung fu arsenal and only being at 120% health, but I think I can pull it off thanks to Leg Breaker totally wrecking strikers and brawler. I also need to take out a grappler or two earlier in the match. New strategy is to try to knock a grappler or two out of the ring to autokill them and thin the herd. My Face Rank is 3 and I need to get to 4 before I go out on any dates (this is my Lady Killer outfit playthrough). I've completed all of the drug busts in North Point and am saving the others until I unlock the safehouses in those parts of town, so I have artificially closed that option for earning Face Rank. It is my OCD at work. If I keep getting rekt in Central MAC, I'll push the storyline until I unlock races and win a few. Then I'll go out on dates after I buy my Lady Killer clothing. Neil Koch Posted September 9, 2015 Share Posted September 9, 2015 So I took my binder of games over to GameStop.. 124 games, just a hair over $400 in store credit.. and the sad thing is I still have about 30-40 games in the binder (games they wouldn't take anymore, PS2 and Xbox games ) What can you do with PS2 and XBox games nowadays? I'm assuming just try to sell them on Ebay? There's apparently a store in North Attleboro that will take them (not gamestop) Even the mom and pop stores around here won't take them. I have a bunch of PS2/Xbox stuff in a storage locker that I'll probably end up giving to Goodwill or something. It's weird though that Gamestop started selling those games again, at least online. The sequel wasn't particularly good but I love the aesthetics and setting. Apparently doing Bully ruined the lives of a bunch of voice actors, b/c neither the voice actor of main charactor Jimmy Hopkins or his primary love interest Zoe have done anything since then. New apartment means new clothes to shop for and new furniture to buy. I have a Thug outfit for the MACs (10% Increase in Damage), a Triad 10% XP outfit, and the Lady Killer stuff (pushed along with the story and got more Face ranks via racing). Now I need to get together a Police 10% XP outfit and that set of clothes that gives me the 10% discount on car purchases. - New apartment also means new drug busts and cameras to hack! Yay, Face XP! - I am getting better at karaoke. I have above 94% for the songs at Club Bam Bam. Damn you, Pat Benetar. We are both connected by the beautiful 804. Why does your fucking song test my twitch reflex like no other? I am guessing the remaining four songs will unlock once K-Bar becomes part of the storyline. - Went out with Amanda. Unlocked Health Shrine Locations. Health is once again at 200% just in time for... - Yeah, I am never going to kill a man with a purse or a shopping bag. Was lucky to get my umbrella kill when I did. - Martial Arts Club: Central is a wrap. The end got really tense but my Face meter kicked in just in time to give me enough toughness to outlast the last grappler and it helps when you remember that you can do that flippy float over move that allows you to get in position to bash them in the base of their spine.. Lesson Learned. Eat Food. Wear A Full Set Of Thug Gear. Get A Massage. Stomp Guys In The Throat. Not looking forward to the other two but I am an achievement whore so there you have it. - Went out with Tiffany and unlocked Jade Statue locations. Got dumped again for sleeping with Not Ping but hey, easy Face XP. - Speaking of Jade Statues, I am not sure what I like more about returning them: getting new movez (LEG BREAKER FTW~!) or getting more backstory on Wei via his conversations with the sifu. - Went out with Not Ping and unlocked all security cam locations. Keep forgetting that there are a couple extra cameras not tied to drug busts in every district of the city. I had to go back and hack the cams covering the Golden Koi, Club Bam Bam, and the Night Market to complete my surveillance coverage of North Point. Now moving on to Central. - Games like these are sometimes not enjoyable for those of us with really bad OCD. It is easier to beat the Uncle Po mission by shooting out the tires of the escort cars, but in the back of my head I know I have not killed anyone with the Sub MG yet, so here I go trying to score headshots on drivers while going a million miles an hour and trying to avoid hurting innocents or causing property damage. Fuck my life. - I am beginning to hate Calvin, but the guy does keep his ear to the ground for me. - I am dumb. The fucking security vans are there because I am supposed to fucking Action Dismount hijack them, not waltz up to the driver side and get pistol whipped. Now I am back on track and leaping from the safety of a perfectly working motor vehicle to the back of a fast moving armored car in order to commandeer and rob them in proper John Woo fashion. I have jacked two or three so far. Not the easiest money to earn, but the hijacking goes towards a medal and I need medal progression for achievements. - I like the Face missions with this sore loser racer asshole. It is an excuse to beat people down with a tire iron. - Speaking of tire Irons. My new thing for drug busts is to go in armed with a tire iron since I can get one from the back of my car. I beat the shit out of the weapon wielding guy first so I can get melee weapon kills with an enemy item before thwacking guys with my remaining melee weapon. - I made a cool million HK dollarz on the illegal rooster fighting. I am the undisputed King of Gamblers on my Xbox Friends List. - Thank God for the male masseuses. Going to one of the back alley hookers for a Happy Ending to boost Face XP can be awkward when your mom is in the kitchen making dinner. - Got the Foodie achievement. How in the hell did I miss the guy selling Waffle Eggs? It is near one of the Parking Garages in North Point that I use rather frequently. - Got the Gold Medal for Ninja. I love the break a guy's leg -> move behind him -> elbow to the back of the head thing, but I had no idea that scoring killing strikes from behind was a medal dealie. - I still have a couple more races to win. I'll do 'em when I have the Face to buy the super cars and premium motorcycles. - I think I am halfway through Tran's car theft list. God bless free illegal money. I am swimming in cash thanks to carjacking and gambling. - Met Rodney Ho in the Uncle Po mission and now have his collections missions to do. New illegal income streams are awesome. - There are some subtle differences in the dating cutscenes when you are wearing the Lady Killer outfit, but nothing that warrants busting your ass to get to Face Rank 4 so that you can wear those clothes on every date. Chaos Posted September 10, 2015 Share Posted September 10, 2015 I am trying to finish working my way through Max Payne 3 since I figured it'd be a short play through. I am stuck on the second half of the open office portion of Chapter 6 where the guys break through the windows. I only have access to two guns, and it seems like I cannot find ample enough cover to defeat everyone. I almost was able to successfully bullet time my way through the room once but died with 2 guys left. I am debating if I need to just restart the mission to see if it bares any better fruit. RIP Winston Chu (a shootout at a church isn't exactly the most original HK action movie or video game trope, but I was pretty broken up by Winston and Peggy's murder), Johnny The Ratface, and Dogeyes (DUMPLINGS, MOTHER FUCKERS~!). Remind me not to piss off the mothers of any of my Chinese friends, especially if they own a restaurant. - Side shit is tedious but at least you are well rewarded for your time. Between hijacking security vans, stealing cars for Tran, and completing Roland Ho's debt collection missions, I have over four million dollars HK. I still have five or six vans to hijack to get a Gold medal. - Reached Face level 8 and have a shit ton of money. Now time to buy some super fast vehicles and finish these damned races. - Losing track of what melee / firearms I have used to kill people. I have brained innocent citizens with handbags, purses, and umbrellas, but I think I still need to clock someone with a Cooking Wok. I cannot remember if I have smashed someone with a crowbar so I will replay one or two of my remaning drug busts until some poor schmock tries to use one against me.
