He gets a lot of shit for being a one dimensional actor and doing the same stuff over and over again but Jason Statham clearly has something.

This new guy does not.

Yeah, you cannot buy male pattern baldness.

Ring sequel/reboot stars films today. Doesn't look like any of the original actors are coming back.

I wonder how they'll get past the whole "no one has VHS" issue anymore. Mabe Samara takes over netflix.

Jesus, does Ring really need a sequel or a reboot?  It's been forever since J-Horror has been relevant to the horror genre in general.   US and Europe are finally reclaiming the fright fest superiority.

Somnia, It Follows and Crimson Peak are the movies highest on my horror radar.  I also have VHS 3 sitting on my DVD stack waiting to be watched.

Simon Kinberg is going to convert Ruairi Robinson's sci-fi short film / proof of concept, The Leviathan, into a major motion picture.

If Robinson's name sounds familiar, he's the psycho that gave you Blinky:

The Silent City:

and the proof of concept trailer for Imaginary Forces:

The one for "Leviathan" genuinely scares the shit out of me, but I think because I've acquired megalophobia as I've gotten older.

And before you even say it ... shaddap!

They can always set it in the 90s?  I loved the first one. HATED the sequel.

Sad thing was The Ring Two was directed by Hideo Nakata...who did the original Japanese Ring movie in 1998, which is no kidding one of the best directorial jobs I've ever seen on a horror movie (outside of maybe Kubrick and The Shining.)

And The Ring Two was absolutely rotten. Man, Hollywood's scripting and big budgets can pretty much stymie even the most talented of foreign directors sometimes.

RE: Tom Cruise. Anytime I hear of actors always insisting on doing their own stunts, I always remember Harrison Ford telling a story about how in Indiana Jones he was constantly volunteering to do his own stunts till his actual stunt man came up to him and, very politely, asked him not to because when Ford did his own stunts he didn't get extra money for it, whereas the stunt guy basically relied on doing them for his income.

I mean, it's nice that you're brave and have artistic integrity and all, but it's not your job. Seems like you might want to leave it to the people with the best training.

Understated Arnie is intriguing, even if it's in a genre I've completely lost interest in. I wish he had made that movie about the German officer saving a bus of orphans from Nazis that was talked about a few years ago.

Movie pitch: Arnold and Harrison in a buddy movie about two aging eccentric actors who will not rest until they have ruined their legacies.

I call it: LEAVE BLADE RUNNER AND TERMINATOR THE FUCK ALONE 2: TOKYO DRIFT.
