KidKash202
jaedmc, I recently saw this match for the first time. It reminds me of the WW3 match when Ultimo DESTROYED Rey. I liked the WW3 match better. Similar spots though.
uchubaco
Jun Kasai vs MASADA...I dunno, it´s hard watching a guy like Kasai, who has no regard for his body and his own well being wrestle. It wasn´t a great match, too much botched spots (the finish was a botch itself), they went for the shock value part of wrestling, instead of the story telling part
kiguchi
WWE has been uploading full matches on youtube. Some of them classic ones. Here's one: Sting vs Vader, Starrcade 1992 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTpv94RcYfw I really liked this match. Vader's dominance display spots were awesome. His punches and forearms probably gave Sting a couple of legit concussions. Sting's sell of Vader's wallops was so awesome as he throws his body where the punches take him and he stumbles across the ring like a mugging victim who barely escaped with his life. Magnificent visual. It was also great that twice, Vader got up first even though it was Sting who hit the moves. What stopped me from loving this was Vader bumping too much on moves he shouldn't be taking. For example, on Sting's first successful offensive move, Vader got knocked off his feet immediately. I would have preferred an escalation to that first bump. Then there was a Sting german supplex, armdrag and a 2nd rope DDT(!) that all happened relatively early in the match where Sting executed them without build and Vader bumping like he was 200 pounds. Too much generosity I thought.
scatterheart
Watching loads of Abdullah the Butcher on youtube. Love the big, evil egg. His best match is probably this fantastic brawl against Carlos Colon in WWC. It's a desperate scrap from the start, expect tables, cinder blocks, lead pipes and, of course, The Fork. Also, lots of glorious nut shots. I enjoyed this match with Hogan too. It's easy to forget how big a star Hogan was, even in Japan in 1982. Hogan wins my imaginary award for the most blatant blade job I've ever seen.
mco543
The Hogan blade job was obvious but Albano blading vs Snuka is still the most blatant. At least Hogan kinda-sorta tried to be discreet (and failed miserably) and he always sucked at hiding his blade jobs. Albano's is just too ridiculous for words, it has to be watched to be believed. http://youtu.be/nCds_xmB8lY

twiztor
so i've been watching WCW Nitro every monday for the last year or so, starting from the beginning. the dates line up perfectly (monday 9/23/96 = monday 9/23/13) Anyway, over the weekend i watched WWF IYH: Mind Games, and it piqued my interest so i'm starting to watch 1996 Raws every Monday too. Today was JR reintroducing "Razor Ramon" and "Diesel" back into the WWF, and he cuts what has to be one of the best "shoot" promos ever on tv. why does Cornette get all the credit for his, when heel JR is so awesome? also on Nitro, the nWo beats up Randy Savage and takes over the announce booth (and the rest of the show) and also introduce their new Nascar car. oh, and there's a surprisingly good Jericho/Mike Enos match, and a swell Public Enemy/Harlem Heat tag title match. i just took a quick look but didn't see either one on youtube. bucky
http://youtu.be/7dpqK5unaJA From the Buck vs. Dustin series. I'm thinking this one is from Main Event some time in July 94, since the German TV broadcast it's ripped from has World Cup 94 scores scrolling at the bottom. Anyways, this isn't a classic but I'd never seen it before and it was just uploaded like 5 days ago. Good punches. How about those punches. Hmm. KidKash202
This is comedy. The horrible interview is at the end. Juventud stole a line from your boy AntiChrist: "Let me tell you one more thing." Tony Shiovanie making up names of moves. Comedy man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmkl_RNNDyg
ben.
So I guess this is the first time I saw this whole match in a very, very long time but I had no idea that Hogan finishes Hansen off with a lariat right in this match, I feel like it was kind of a dick move, other people's thoughts? http://youtu.be/6EZveIuA_hg

Wasn't that move (the Ax Bomber, I think?) Hogan's finisher in Japan? So it's understandable.
ben.
Was it? I'm very out of the loop when it comes to Hogan wrestling in Japan, looks like I will do more research haha.
Curt McGirt
Yeah, the Axe Bomber was Hogan's finish in Japan, not the leg drop like in the States. Of course compared to the Western Lariat-o it was shit, but it was over with the fans there so whatever. You know, off the top of my head I can't think of another wrestler that had a different finish for a different country...
Ace
Samoa Joe did in Z1 for a while, I think. He eventually stopped using the Island Driver since it was Misawa's finish and they were in Misawa's building.
Log
Didn't the Ax Bomber knock out Inoki like for real? I think that's why it was so over in Japan.

notoriusvig
After reading the Photo post and seeing the awesome Destination X 2008 pics, I had to watch this badboy. First thing I saw was the Fish Market Street Fight with Team 3D v. Curry Man/Shark Boy. This may have been the greatest match in existence. The first half of the match was complete chaos as they both attempted to kill each other with several types of fish. Bubba even started throwing smaller fish into the crowd and at the ring crew. Curry Man attached a cupcake to a fishing pole and lured Bubba into biting it and Curry Man tried bringing him in like a fish. Both teams did the wasssup headbutt but only with fish. The crowd could give a fuck less about Curry Man and even less for Shark Boy but they wanted to see Team 3D throw someone threw a table. However, they didn't even do the bit where Bubba tells Devon to get a table. The crowd was really hot for a table spot and all they got was Johnny Devine being tossed over the top onto a table. Team 3D didn't even win this thing though. Gail Kim, ODB, and Kong fought for the KO title in a well worked match. Kong looked strong and was protected and the other two didn't look weak. Kong won but Gail Kim was hot. Booker T v. Robert Roode in a Stand By Your Man Strap Match was just a wrestling match with both guys tied together, which sucked. Roode won even though Booker was looking for revenge on him for punching Sharmell. Somehow, Peyton Banks and Traci were involved and Traci ended up getting 10 lashes with a small strap because Booker lost. Both of these gals are rough looking to say the least. Traci took her lashes like Tommy Dreamer did with The Sandman, just without the intensity. After the 10 lashes, Peyton kept going and Sharmell made the save with a strap. She actually went to town on everyone including security, refs, Dave Penzer, the announcers, and Jim Cornette. Quite awesome ending.

He had everything a great wrestler needed.

Curt McGirt
Stan didn't need America, he had Japan and they paid him like a king. It's not like he didn't work Bruno in New York and carry the AWA belt either so its kind of a moot point.

There are taped house shows and some CV stuff vs the Nasty Boys from the end of 92 which are actually really good. Rotunda looks as good in them as he does in his entire IRS run (or at least until when I Stopped watching stuff recently in 94). You need the six man where they tag with Doink too.
