rzombie1988
I demand that Brock bring back the hammerlock belly to belly suplex. Perhaps without the neon pink and green that Barry's wearing though. Admit it, Brock could make neon pink and green badass.
MGFanJay
If anyone could, Brock could. I liked Barry's continuity having the laces on each boot match the armbands. Slammer and Jammer's vicious streak seems to involve using forearms that could possibly crush an egg that had sustained a minor fall. Bruce Prichard is awful on commentary. I knew I remembered Bull Pain from the AWA reruns - he was there as Rick Gantner and as one of the Hangmen. JUST LET YOUR SOUL GLO...
Curt McGirt
We need to debate who has the best mullet in Global. Prichard might win but Chaz is pretty damn close. Let me know what was on the last hour, I have a show to go to and don't have DVR like all you other lucky individuals.
MGFanJay
Main event was Candi Devine and Sam Houston against Bull Pain and Samantha. Twas not a great match.
hammerva
So from what I gather this Global from early 1993 but since the company was pretty much done in 1993 it was just best of stuff from 1991. They mention all of the big angles (the Boss, the Cartel for example) but never show any of it. Hopefully we get the full 1991 shows without the editing because I don't remember any of these fan shots in the original version but I never Global during the bungee cord era. It is funny that X Pac was a much better wrestler when he was the least looking of a wrestler. His stuff as Lightning Kid is amazing and a good heel but he looks about 100 pounds. Greggulator
I have some tape somewhere that had a bunch of Lightning vs. Lynn stuff from Minnesota before they moved to Global. GREAT stuff. They set up a hair vs. hair match wonderfully. Kid jumped Lynn and cut off a lot of his hair and then sold it in baggies during intermission. Stosh
I watched a little bit off and on today. The Gilbert vs Daniels match with the fireball was the best. I saw a guy I had never heard of before, named Calvin Knapp. He had a good look and did some pretty athletic stuff. A google search shows GWF is really the only notable place he ever worked. Rod Price and John Tatum as a team were pretty decent. Tatum was such a good crybaby heel. I think Bull Pain got better with age. The match I saw today was pretty underwhelming. Some of his offense looked like he didn't give a shit. Later when I saw him in IWA-MS, he was such a killer bad ass heel. Jerry Lynn's finishing move was the sleeper. Seriously. Not surprisingly, Eddie Giilbert was the best I saw all day by a country mile. Sam Houston looked so terrible in the match I saw. He had to be drunk or worse. There's a 94+ disc set of GWF with original recordings. There's atleast 40 discs of 1991 stuff out there, so that year is fortunately covered. I've read online that ESPN had the edits on the original airings since this was on after school. The first and second episode aired today was from 1993. I'd also like to point out that different Global shows were shown today. We got some of Main Event and Legends. Legends had all the old stuff. Stuttsy
Watched off and on all day. The 2 PM EST show seemed to be the best of the bunch with Scott Anthony vs. Patriot, some Lightning Kid vs. Jerry Lynn highlights and Cactus Jack vs. Terry Gordy. Enjoyed Scott Anthony, he did a lot of little things that I liked. Every moment of Eddie Gilbert on TV in 2013 was surreal and a joy to see.The two standouts to me for the day were Barry Horowitz, who looked great in pretty much every outing, and Terry Garvin Simms, who was a great blue collar Eric Embry style babyface. Really enjoyed Garvin vs. Gilbert, maybe my favorite match of the day.
Stosh
I'm forwarding threw my DVR and catching up on todays Global... Bull Pain is in a squash vs Ben Jordan. He looks like a million bucks here. Much better than the match I saw earlier. His offense looks nasty and he comes across menacing like you'd expect. Craig Johnson > every other GWF announcer by a lot. Skandor Akbar seems to have no heat by this point. He'd probably just been around Dallas way too long by now. Scott Anthony just did a Vanilla Ice style rap promo. OMG. All joking aside, he oozes charisma and is clearly a better heel than almost every other person on the roster. Lightning Kid is awesome. We have a Scott Putski sighting, and an Al Perez sighting. My day is made. The GWF looooved ref bumps for finishes. Cactus Jack was a beast in his match vs Terry Gordy.
Pete
Horowitz was so great in Dallas. I remember one match where he was in control on the other guy, hit a move and just yelled "I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!" Popped the fuck out of me.

Pete
So funny to see Booker 20 years ago. Green as an emerald but even back then you could see the potential was there.
