Not that it isn't already academic seeing as it's coming from Bob Bennett, Damon Martin tweeted that Francisco Aguilar told him the commission still has to vote to overturn the result.

Guys, the NSAC has NOT ruled Silva/Diaz a No Contest! They have to actually vote on it before that happens.

http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2015/2/8/8001233/report-ufc-blocked-2-17-million-payment-anderson-silva-ufc-news

Anderson Silva has reportedly had R$ 6 16 million (roughly $ 2.17 6 million US) blocked by the UFC due to his pre-fight drug test failure. Veja.com.br reported the news, stating that the money will be released after the Nevada Athletic Commission has made its final rulings on Silva's case. The amount is the sum of his $600,000 purse to show, win bonus of $200,000, and his pay-per-view points.

After a 13-month layoff, "The Spider" returned to the Octagon and beat Nick Diaz by unanimous decision in the five-round main event of UFC 183 on January 31. However, Anderson was caught using performance-enhancing drugs in a random test taken on January 9. Drostanolone and androstane were found in his system. Pending a vote by NAC officials on February 17th, the bout is likely to be turned into a no contest.

Besides the potential overturned result, Anderson's win bonus may be forfeit because of the doping issue. Also, he is expected to be fined and suspended by the NAC.

Well, Lombard failed his drug test.  Bang up first six weeks for the UFC in 2015.

You wanna talk about how Lombard is never put in the title picture now?

Yes, because PED users are never in the title picture.

Those people usually figure out how to pass their blood and urine tests more often than not.

You want to talk about this being a brutal year for the UFC now?

They just had their biggest month in PPV since what....2009 or 2010?

And what I was talking about is that it has been brutal in terms of negative headlines.  I'm sure Dana would prefer the big PPVs numbers minus the "Jones tested positive for coke" and "Anderson Silva test positive for steroids" headlines.

You seem to think Hector Lombard is my favorite fighter of all-time.

I'm not going to ignore how you complained that he wasn't in the title picture.

OH MY...I complained that someone isn't in the title picture!  BTW Lombard was - until testing positive like a dumbass - booked to be in a title eliminator against Rory.  So somebody at Zuffa (finally) felt he was worthy of being in the title picture.

They got through 06-07 fine and that was when people really had no idea people were actually being tested. Dana and the Fertittas have been around for what? Fifteen years now at least. They've seen some TERRIBLE shit. You take the good with the bad.

Meltzer confirmed that TUF Brazil 4 was already shooting with Anderson when Minotauro had to step in. UFC and Globo had an agreement that Anderson would stay on as coach when the news of the 183 tests broke.
