DECEMBER WRESTLING DISCUSSION THREAD

RIPPA

Recommended Posts

Someone who can do math needs to really breakdown how much Network subscribers pay for each "PPV". Like, take every single thing on it monthly, assign a price, and deduct from Ten fucking bucks. At the most expensive would be someone who watches nothing at all besides the "PPV's". And that's still just ten bucks.

Actually it's $9.99. Guess that's why you need a math person.

The notion from a few pages back that Triple H embraces nerd culture is silly to me. Is it because he has an open checkbook from Vince to hire indy guys that their scouts find? The dude is constantly tweeting himself on fitness magazines, pretty much the antithesis of the pale basement dwellers. He doesn't even book NXT. Another IWC fairytale.

And, besides some dirtsheet speculation (not Meltz), where did anyone say this New Day faction was supposed to be gamers? This was the plan all along, from Big E's preacher-esque promo months earlier to Xavier coming out to ringside to save them. WWE went to the lowest common denominator for their black wrestlers as usual. It's a step above Cryme Time.

Dream WM Main event:

Daniel Bryan vs Brock Lesnar - WWE Title

Sting & Cena vs Triple H & Batista (Or Sting/Taker if he can go)

Shield Triple Threat for MITB briefcase/no.1 contendership

Ziggler vs Rusev - US Title

Harper vs Cesaro - IC Title

Andre Battle Royal

Brie vs Nikki vs Paige vs AJ elimination match

Tag team schmozz pre-show

The best would be Bryan winning the rumble, then beating Lesnar in an epic main event... Then Seth Rollins' shitty music hits and he comes out to cash in. The match starts, Bryan shows a little fire before getting overwhelmed. Rollins sets up the curb stomp, then Ambrose comes out of the crowd, grabs Seth's leg or something, causes a distraction, Bryan locks in the Yes Lock and Rollins taps. Ambrose finally gets his ultimate payback on Rollins, lives up to his promise to never let Rollins cash in the briefcase, Bryan gets the great comeback story, and the two cult heroes can celebrate to end the show.

They need to turn the MITB ladder match into the "BRASS RING" ladder match. Dudes can fight over precious and he who possesses it can pull the brass ring from their trunks and wallop dudes to victory.

Replacing the briefcase with a HUGE brass ring would be fucking amazing and if WWE doesn't do it, some other company should rip off that idea.

Mania card:

Shield Triple Threat for World Title (Rollins cashes in at or around Rumble)
Lesnar v. Bryan (two former champs owed rematch/title shots-winner is no. 1 contender)
Sting v. Wyatt
Cena (should really be Swagger) v. Rusev (w/ some hokey clause like loser must sing winner's national anthem)
Ziggler v. Cesaro (IC/US title unification)
Harper v. Sheamus
Andre Battle Royal

No idea how to work HHH or Orton into this.

I think HHH is more connected by virtue of being younger and interacting more closely with younger guys, as well as being tuned in to stuff like Grantland. Also not sure you get which crowd we're talking about.  "Pale basement dwellers" more describes who the WWE is currently marketed toward than the teen-to-30s geek-friendly crowd we're discussing here.

Winner Reigns/Ambrose vs. Winner Lesnar/Orton

Reigns vs. Ambrose (Both eliminated at same time in Rumble, attempt to get a finish at Feb PPV ends in double KO [spear/Dirty Deeds combo])

Lesnar © vs. Orton (Orton finally gets his rematch from LAST Wrestlemania)

Rusev © vs. Cena (US Title) - Rusev taunts WWE universe and starts going after all former US champs. If there's any Canadian dates, I'd have him CRUSH Bret Hart which leads to Cena challenging him at WrestleMania

Sting/Taker vs. HHH/Wyatt (Triple H goes back to the Devil he knows to take out the Devil he couldn't defeat)

Ziggler © vs. Rollins (IC Title) - Rollins needs to be on the card, best place to put him

Neville © vs. Balor (NXT Title - Daniel Bryan Special Guest Referee)

Paige vs. Nikki © /Brie (Divas Title - If either Bella is pinned, Paige is champ)

Dustin Rhodes vs. Cody Rhodes - Career vs. Career match

Pre-Show:

Andre Battle Royal

Miz/Mizdow © vs. Usos vs. New Day (Tag Title)

Well, that's not what anyone's saying. The idea is that HHH is more aware of the fact that the WWE's largest fan base is steeped in geek culture, and is more willing to market to that fanbase than Vince, who believes that his fans are mainstream sports fans. NXT is a very good indicator of this - characters like the Vaudevillains and ska-loving Sami Zayn are clearly meant to appeal to a geekier crowd than, say, the Usos or Ryback. HHH doesn't have to be a geek-culture guy himself to recognize that that's where the money is.

WM 31:

Reigns (Rumble Winner) vs. Rollins (Cashes in after Lesnar/Cena) for WWE World Championship. Special Referee: Dean Ambrose

Loser must Retire match: Kane vs. Daniel Bryan (good way to send off Kane.)

Sting vs. HHH

Tag Team Championship: Usos vs. New Day vs. Ascension vs. Dusts

2nd Memorial Andre Battle Royal: won by Dolph Ziggler, last eliminating Mark Henry.

US Title: Rusev vs. John Cena

Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt

Diva something or other.

IC Championship: Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan

How I'd book it.

Call me when you want a Summerslam 15 card to destroy the world. Wrestlemania is easy.

The key will be, KEY KEY KEY, will be that Rusev must beat Cena. If Rusev beats Cena you have the beginnings of a heel for the ages. He can challenge big the following year, work transition, and forever have the cred ass someone who can actually "win a match" against Cena, Orton, Triple H, the unbeatables.

If he loses, just another fuck in line to be a hip hop animal.

Would Swagger beating Rusev put both over? I mean by the time WM comes around Swagger will have failed twice at beating down the Hero of the Russian Federation. It would come of as flukey rather than a big win IMO

If done the right way it could be. We're so used to WWE screwing everything up that we have no faith they can pull anything off.

Let it be flukey. Let Swaggers losses and failures be built into it. Let Rusev dominate like never before and Swagger somehow, someway squeeze out a win.

Swagger comes out of it presented as the hero and Rusev goes on the warpath leading him to Cena at Summerslam 15.
