Can someone please tell me why every RAW, SmackDown, Main Event, NXT, etc. review (and TNA) has a gratuitous shot of the women while they're wrestling?

Because nobody's told MGFanJay not to do it, so he hasn't stopped.

What constitutes "gratuity", here? I mean, this is the only shot that he posted to DVDR:

Does that really seem gratuitous? Yes, ok, there's AJ's ass, but she's wrestling, not intentionally displaying said ass for the camera.

Look, it's Tyson's ass! Gratuitous!

C'mon.

Okay, this one time there was one picture. If this was a TNA recap thread, all of the pictures would be that way. But I guess we care more about women vs. men matches than undermining their ability in the ring and just posting tit and ass shots. I finally get it~!

It's TNA.  There's not much to care about there.

And I will admit to being a Punk fan. I started following the guy in 2002 and he was the first indy guy that I really liked. It also helped that his rise coincided with my angsty teen years. He's a guy who I followed from high school gyms to the main event at WrestleMania. I imagine that a lot of internet fans feel the same way.

I don't watch (and can't generally bring myself to care about) TNA, but I went and looked in the last Raw thread because I didn't remember this.

Having done that, I have to admit that when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. MGFanJay's pics from last week's Raw included some pretty blatant pussy shots.

Good fucking god, does the fucking social justice warrioring have to infest every fucking wrestling thread. Don't you lot ever get tired of being outraged at everything?

I will never understand the Punk backlash.

Start reading some posts on this board then. He is sloppy in the ring and while he can be a great promo, he's also had some incredibly stupid ones such as "This is Phil Brooks talking.." He also has some ridiculous fans who overrate his ring work. He also whined about his position in the company after he had just held the top title for over a year.

I dunno if 3 f-bombs in a two-sentence post is the right way to proclaim OTHER people outraged...

Anyway, more seriously, since I DID get bored enough to go look in the last Impact thread, it's not hard to see what he's talking about. Ass shots are gonna be a bit hard not to have if someone's ring gear is a near-thong under a skirt, but the cameraman in those pics was pretty blatantly in "upskirt" position, there.

If I was a TNA cameraman, I'd be taking upskirt shots too. There isn't much else worth photographing in TNA.

How do you "overrate" the single greatest wrestler of all-time and savior of the business?

More worrying is Raz's unironic use of "Social Justice Warrior" approximately 85 times today.

He is concerned with ethics in pro wrestling journalism.

Yeah, every time I hear someone say "social justice warrior," which is really just a DVDVR-acceptable way of saying "white knight," it strengthens my desire to derail all threads until everyone stops being incredibly creepy.

The Social Justice Warrior would be a cool name for a wrestler. His enemy could be a guy who starts every promo with "I'm not a racist/sexist/xenophobe....BUT..."

Which shows how low the bar is there. Who IS the most

hated heel right now? Rollins?

If we're going by this thread, CM Punk.

Almost. Actually, I think it is CM Punk fans going by this thread.

If you don't like Social Justice Warriors, does that mean you think society would be better without justice?

Setting aside the fact that Punk really didn't sell a whole lot of tickets or PPVs, the pipebomb promo wasn't really all that shooty. If you go back and watch it, he didn't actually say anything that broke kayfabe. That kind of shoot stuff is fine. The kind that tries to convince you that it's real by acknowledging that everything else is fake is what's terrible. Like "This is Phil Brooks talking to Paul Levesque." And Dean Ambrose saying that the security guards were Rosebuds the previous week. That shit sucked.

So Punk and Sting never sold tickets?

They really need to get the belt on Cesaro so he can sell out stadiums.

Punk sold a ton of t-shirts but not many tickets. I don't know what Sting has to do with this, but he was never any kind of draw either except for Starrcade 1997.

I'd be more impress with Punk's merch sales if he had shitty ass marketing to them. I mean, we all know how much I adore Punk and all, but even I would buy some of the shirts they've put out for him.

Punk would disagree with you here.

Also, I don't think there' a huge CM Punk backlash anyway.  I think there are a lot more fans of his than not on here and most places.  Also, I'm sure some people were never big fans of him to began with so a "backlash" point wouldn't apply to them.

When you hold the top title for over a year, and for all of that time you were booked as the number 2 attraction, behind the guy you took the title off... I can see why you'd be a little dischuffed about that.
