GOTNW
Glad to see their expansion continue. AxsTV or whatever supposedly used to be HDNet.
Raziel
I need to get this channel into my rotation now. NJPW without dealing with Daily Motion, FUCK YES!
Ace
From my understanding, it's a 13 episode run of past matches. Commentary will be Mauro Ranallo & Josh Barnett.
RandomAct
They sold me with Mauro.
Curt McGirt
Oh hell yeah, Barnett's crazy ass sells it for me. Now if CMLL could just get their shit together and run their shows in real time instead of backlog... I wonder what matches they're gonna show. Surely a couple showcases to get over the stars before they switch to the fresh stuff, if they decide to keep on after the initial run.
Ace
According to the LAW, it'll have the 2013 G-1, and Tanahashi -v-Okada from the 2013 Dome show.
jstout
They should just produce "The Tomohiro Ishii Show." - "marvel as grumpy dudes beat crap out of each other for your amusement."
Stay Gold
Fingers crossed for Nakamura vs Ibushi getting a spot on the show. Really curious to see that with English commentary. I remember absolutely losing it when Ibushi kicked out at 1 and basically went all "FUCK YOU" to Nak so I'd like to see how the announce team react to that particular moment. Ryan
I assume in the end it will be a big swerve and they'll use Dan Lovransky and that other guy they used for the Tokyo Pop FMW stuff and just make things up and mix it badly, so you can't hear the in-ring audio.
Justin877
It can join the parade of channels I should have but not available in my area, right up there with El Rey
Curt McGirt
Fuuuuuuuuuuck that. Then again it could be even worse... they could hire Missy Hyatt like on the Japanese Hardcore Wrestling DVDs! Seriously though, Mauro for play-by-play and Warmaster on color is a great pair. Mauro unbeknownst to me called pro in Stampede and All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver to start his career so he already has experience beyond the MMA leagues. So does Michael Schiavello, who I'm surprised isn't in the position. He was good doing Dream when they had pro matches and would make a great addition. Justin877
Could be the stellar hosting team of Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J from Stranglemania! Just think of the commentary on the swag of Nakamura!
wakigatame
Seems like this might be a dub of WPW Returns, where they air highlights of a show and then one match in full at the end of the show. If it's not that and we get a 2 hour sow with full matches, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Playa Shunna Ver 3.0
They should rename that youtube video "2 Minutes of Shit....plus 10 seconds of awesome".
Infinit
Mauro also did the voiceovers for The Fight Network's Pro Wrestling Noah broadcasts.
Dewar
Not liking Mauro as the main announcer. Recently whenever he's discussed pro wrestling, it's with some distain in his voice. I don't need to see another announcer who doesn't give a shit about doing a good job, and just wants the paycheque.
RandomAct
If it matters, he seems to be really flattered by all the comments on Twitter. I think he'll do well.
jstout
I thought I read discussion that Mauro was a big wrestling fan, and was even a manager for some indy organization for a while. Plus betcha he's looking at this as a tryout for something bigger...
JRV
Yeah, didn't he start out calling wrestling? Like that awful Schiavello duder? (The "goodnoite oireen" guy.) Except Mauro is pretty dope & Josh on there is gonna make it work anyway.
Dewar
He did start out as a wrestling announcer. I remember him calling the Stampede re-boot in the 1990's, and he was good, because he was passionate about it. Not sure if he's still passionate about wrestling these days. Mauro used to appear on The Score (now Sportsnet 360) during their Right After Wrestling shows with Renee Paquette (Young) and Jimmy Korderas, and he shit on pretty much everything they did every week, and he eventually was replaced or quit. If he's hoping NJPW leads to something bigger, he better hope nobody in WWE remembers his stint on that show.
