Mistah Na1m4rk
What the hell is that about?
Tromatagon
He explained it to one of my friends. NBC canceled the Apprentice because Donald Trump is a dick. This is after the show already got picked up and a lot of people were told they were going to have work, and now don't because of Trump's behavior. I'm not saying they didn't make the right decision, it just sucks innocent people are losing work.
NikoBaltimore
That really sucks for those involved, but that's Donald Trump for you. Not to make light of that, but I imagine that can only be a good thing for LU's talks for season 2.

thecubsfan
Not to make light of that, but I imagine that can only be a good thing for LU's talks for season 2. There was a story being floated back in April that LU season 2 start date might have to be pushed back because Van Wagenen was going to be busy in a similar executive producer for the Apprentice. Everyone ended up denying it, with Van Wagenen saying he didn't even know when they were taping it because it completely depended on Trump's schedule - but if there still somehow was anything to it, at least it's not there any more. The Z
According to PWInsider Lucha Underground filed trademarks for a bunch of terms. Don't know, if that means anything for season 2 or not. Tromatagon
EVW had said the apprentice story was bullshit previously, though. The trademarks don't have anything to do with season two.
Ace
The Apprentice also isn't cancelled. It just won't have Trump anymore. Trump wouldn't have been able to do a season this fall regardless.

Tromatagon
The Drago/Hernandez match this week sets up MY personal favorite moment later this season, so be sure to check it out. Also we get Texano vs Daivari , and stuff that I'm not sure how its going to play on TV that hasn't been announced yet because weird shit happened at the tapings. A Guy Named Tracy
So that Chavo injury had to be legit right? He was super protective of his right knee for the remainder of the match. At first viewing, the injury spot looked like nothing. Upon watching it back, you can see Chavo hyperextend his knee.
Robert
I think it was. Chavo came off really bad there with the odds being stacked and he gets hurt, does nothing, loses. But who cares, it's Chavo. Alberto's promo was so great. Probably has a lot to do with the demographics but I'd like to think it's just a more educated crowd since every insult in Spanish gets a bigger pop than one in English. The build to Puma/Muertes is great so far. Ultima Lucha shaping up quite nicely.
Hail Sabin
That was probably my least favorite episode of Lucha Underground. Is Ultima Lucha Aug 5th or Aug 12th?
Tromatagon
Chavo's injury was legit. I think he tore his hamstring IIRC They had to shuffle a lot around because of it. I'm a huge honky but Alberto says some funny shit in Spanish
cubbymark
His Spanglish wasn't bad and he said pinche a bunch, which gets bonus points from me. His squash of the Moth was exactly what it needed to be.
Mistah Na1m4rk
The Moth's mannerisms are the best. I'm sure they'll give him a good angle to work with eventually but they're doing a good job giving him some face time to show off his personality. Is he any good in the ring? I'm not familiar with him outside of LU.
thecubsfan
Is Ultima Lucha Aug 5th That's the date. Supposed to be a two hour special. Not sure if that'll hold true for Unimas as well or if they'll split it up. Marty was on the previous version of Tough Enough (with Ivelisse and Son of Havoc), but hasn't worked any place high profile since - looks like just smaller California indies. Robert
Ricochet showed up in New Japan today... I know the usual suspects will be in denial mode saying guys can work where they want when LU isn't taping but probably not a good sign the top LU guy is trying to get back in with NJPW. Especially since they appear to be building a long term match with him vs Omega rather than just a one-off appearence. :/
Tromatagon
Probably not a good sign but something they could work aroud due to New Japan's traditional touring schedule. I don't see why they'd bother trademarking shit for the end of the season if the show is dead, though.
Tromatagon
When the optimist and pessimistic sides battle in my brain the pessimist usually wins out. It'd be nice if they told us what's up already
thecubsfan
If the long term thing is a fake out, and Ricochet is just putting over KUSHIDA in a battle of this year's Super Juniors winner and last year's Super Juniors winner, then everything's (mostly) fine! Even if that was the case, if I was Lucha Underground and season 2 was still in play, I'd send someone out to to Twitter to calm everyone's nerves and say everything is going to be OK. Someone official, not the unofficial emissaries or the people who've been saying a deal is just about to be done in a few months. But then I'd also send someone out to say everything is going to be OK even if there was no hope, just to protect the last few shows.
Raziel
Ricochet in NJPW doesn't mean a lot to LU. Its an easy schedule to work around, and honestly, the next tour is the G1, and there won't be a non-tourny match until the back half of shows. And Omega has build in easy build with "Oh, you haven't beaten me yet!" Although yeah, I wish someone would say something one way or the other. Robert
What bothers me with this thing is Ricochet is said to be the second highest paid guy there behind Alberto. They jumped through hoops to get him. He has no incentive to jeopardize his spot unless he knows things aren't good. He's also not going to NJPW and risking having to cancel a tour if LU suddenly announces new taping dates. We'll see how it plays out but bottom line is as an LU fan this is an awful sign. Not to mention the other LU guys taking/inquiring about other work.
