RIPPA
I really should have started this back when qualification started but oh well. Apparently Iceland is the greatest team ever now
Randy
Iceland were close to qualifying for the WC, so it shouldn't be a gigantic surprise that they are performing well in Euro qualification.

Death From Above
The Irish Bus finds a point off Germany with a last second stoppage time goal, and honestly they've more or less deserved that. Kroos was great for Germany. A lot of other players sub-par.
ReiseReise
Honestly saw the Irish equalizer coming, our team was defending cowardly instead of playing when there were chances for breaks and such. Low engery, yadda yadda, Ireland had worked as hard as we had all game and were under constant pressur. It is ridiculous how this German team failed to do what Ireland was able to do for about 70 minutes against a side that was virtually awful in front of goal. I guess we really need quite a few players back for this qualifying campaign to become a success. Maybe it was arrogance and/or false belief in our second and third stringers, but I really didn´t think we would conceedr against all three of our opponents in the first three qualifying games. odessasteps
Quite the day for the home nations (and ireland if they are not part of that).
ReiseReise
Kroos was great for Germany. A lot of other players sub-par. Not quite of the same opinion. He scored a tremendous goal, had one or two good moments, but especially in crunch time - also on some other occasions - he gave the ball away far too easily. I think, pretty much every player seemed to be below his paritcular "normal" level, which isn´t to say Ireland would have been tough to break down with all of our players being on form. Guest The Magnificent 7
Ireland! And how does UEFA acquiesce and not let the possibility of Spain and Gibraltar play in the same group, yet Albania and Serbia gets the go ahead?

RIPPA
Ireland! And how does UEFA acquiesce and not let the possibility of Spain and Gibraltar play in the same group, yet Albania and Serbia gets the go ahead? Well apparently neither team applied to be kept separate and the two countries didn't meet the criteria for the exception (the main ones being involved in an armed conflict and not having diplomatic relations) Not saying it was right - just that is what UEFA's excuse is

Guest The Magnificent 7
Fun, intense match between Ireland and Scotland. Current Celt Scott Brown setup ex-Celt Shaun Maloney with a clever backheel, and Maloney curled a beauty into the far corner. Great strike and it was bedlam in the stands with the celebration. Match was somewhat blotted by the, though expected, booing of McGeady and McLean for having the temerity of playing for Ireland instead of the country of their birth. The fact that the irony of the Malaysian-born Maloney scoring the winner and being celebrated by very same cretins was lost on them. Still, a fun match. The fact that the irony of the Malaysian-born Maloney scoring the winner and being celebrated by very same cretins was lost on them. Cretins is a bit harsh(partly because people find the term offensive in general), there didn't seem like any real vitriol in it. That'll be saved for the England game I would think.
