Political consultant Jen needs her own series.

Also, April's resume... oh my god, I haven't laughed that hard in a while

I could see that being a series, but Kathryn Hahn seems to be more of a movie actress, even though she does make TV appearances.

Correct me if I'm wrong but we haven't seen future Jean Ralphio yet, have we?  He would seem to be the glaring omission.

As soon as I turned off my computer I yelled (in my head, not like out loud or anything) "Jean Ralpho!" I don't know how I forgot about him. Hopefully Mona Lisa shows up too, mostly just because of my weird crush on Jenny Slate.

Dude nothing weird about it.  She makes her total wreck of a human being character very appealing somehow.

Glad it's not just me.  I never really cared for her on SNL, but her stint on Parks and Rec made me really appreciate/crush on her.  Then I listened to her on Marc Maron's podcast and liked her even more.  She seems really cool.

All movie actors are doing TV now.  It's the thing.

I've started rewatching the series, and Season 1 isn't as bad as people want to imagine it is. I guess it depends on if you think Brendanawicz fits into the comedic structure and timings of the show, and most episodes he does. His character just isn't as great as his replacements later on. I'll tell you what I don't like, though, in retrospect: The entire dynamic of Ann & Andy. Knowing what happens later and how amazing Andy and April are together, this just feels really forced.

But what I'm really taking away from my re-watch of Season 1 is Offerman's take on the Ron Swanson character. Obviously it's early on in the show and whatnot, but it doesn't have that same feel as it does in later seasons. Which is what makes the entire show for a lot of people. Plus, he just looks WEIRD.

My recording cut off the 2nd episode before it ended I take it Ben won IOW woman of the year which Leslie reacted to how?

"Son of a biiiiiitch...."

I guess the IOW woman of the year award will be to Knope what winning a state title was to Hank Hill.

Ron in a suit looks so strange in the early episodes.

Andy/Anne stuff almost feels like it belongs in a different show.  That said Andy growing a little and becoming a better boyfriend in season two makes for some good storylines.

I feel the same way about the first season as I do about the first two episodes of the current season. A lot of work was put into establishing what was going on, who everyone is etc. and once they get past that they start doing some really fun and interesting stuff. Its not bad and actually kind of necessary.
