Niners Fan in CT Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I don't think we need to find someone who is credible enough to take the title off Brock because Brock should hold the title forever. He's the only guy on the roster right now who feels like a big fucking deal. Ambrose should be pushed to the moon though.
Fallacy! Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 The most important takeaway from tonight's show is that John Cena is the man and had Brock beat and should be the WWE Champion right now.
jaedmc Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 R-Truth slapped Ted Dibiase so hard it gave him a concusion, but no one worries about his opponents.
Phantom Lord Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I completely forgot about the most infuritating thing of the night at least for me. The WWE nuked their PPV bridge tonight. They ripped on anyone who doesn't have the network by basically saying "you must be a real idiot to be paying $54.95 for this". I bet the companies they haven't pissed off because of the network must have been thrilled when they did that and then they did it again later in the night. It's amazing how this company is run. 4
ebbie Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I chose not to watch the tag title match in the count of Cody Rhodes creeps the fuck out of me. Like its so disturbing and not fun to watch the guy. But I am sure the match was good to those who watched because the Usos opening a show is usually a win. The audio was wired. It seemed like the crowd didn't care for most of what was presented. That Henry/Rusev match seemed to have almost no heat. How do you have a USA/evil foreigner angle in the goddamn south and half the arena doesn't care? During the Ambrose thingy, all I could focus on was how many people were wearing WWE shirts. Didn't realize they made that many marketable shirts this year. Dang. Who the hell wants to see Orton vs Jerico in 2014? Thought the divas match was pretty good. I agree with dude that said AJ is annoying to watch. She comes across as thinking she is so above what she is doing; maybe that's why she gets Punk chants because he was the exact same way. Also the character stuff between AJ/Paigeis really awkward. It isn't getting much reaction. it looked even worst when you got people claiming THIS feud will 'revolutionize' the divas while Nikki Bella is going around punching people in the fucking face. Punching people in the face > failing at getting cheap pops. Nikki was awesome tonight. The Cena/Brock match was really, really good. But Brock going "Cena's excited for the match on Sunday. That's fine, he'll just get his ass beat again." Or something was the best line in a promo I've heard in a while. 1
SirSmUgly Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I liked this match better than the Summerslam one, but I am a sucker for matches where guys just throw bombs all day even when it doesn't make narrative sense (like most early '90s Steiner matches). When it actually fits the narrative, I'm definitely loving it. This was probably my favorite PPV match since Usos/Harper and Rowan 2/3 falls and my favorite PPV singles match since Bryan/HHH.
Hollywood Cibernetico Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Overall a good show. Some quick notes/observations - The tire screech (or whatever the hell that is) at the start of Ambrose music is the new glass break sound. The crowd went nuts and everyone knew mayhem was going to follow. As mentioned earlier in the thread, WWE truly is sitting on Fort Knox with Ambrose. - Nikki Bella has come a long way. The Bellas were always 'okay' in the ring compared to others who have come up, but Nikki has been making a strong case for a Divas championship run. Nikki has been constant for the last 2 years or so. - I can't stand the U.S.A. stuff. Just seems so corny. The Big Show/Mark Henry stuff, L.G. signing The National Anthem, the ring gear. All is just a big 'no thank you' from me. - I turned off The Network for the Orton/Jericho match. When you put two guys in the ring that I think should be GONE from WWE...well...that makes me gone from my TV. I have zero interest with these two and in a perfect world Kane/Miz/Jericho/Orton/RVD will all be involved angles only with the other members of Team Go Away and not stink up the rest of the roster. Keep this shit on Main Event and Superstars and I will not complain. - Who the hell chants 'we want wrestling' during a Ceasaro/Sheamus match? Seriously? Two world beaters are in the ring and you want to see them chain wrestle and not fuck shit up? - I don't understand why WWE won't turn down/turn off the mics when doing close ups. Paige is on the turnbuckle with AJ and you can hear her ask "Are you ready?" clear as day. - Ziggler Please? Did that REALLY make it on air in 2014? - Sandow being Miz's shadow/stunt double is amazing. Sandow is the best part of Miz's whole act. The second best? Miz's wardrobe. I love watching Miz's entrance and hearing NO REACTION everytime. One of the most unover guys on the roster is the I.C. champion? Why?
Overly Critical Man Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 That Rusev match was bullshit. I don't buy anything hurting Mark Henry. He was crying even before the match began. Those weren't tears. That was the moisture fleeing away from his body in fear. 1

It's clear what needs to happen: Brock Lesnar vs. Brock Lesnar in a Brock Lesnar on a pole match. Inside a steel Brock Lesnar. 1
A Guy Named Tracy Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 - I don't understand why WWE won't turn down/turn off the mics when doing close ups. Paige is on the turnbuckle with AJ and you can hear her ask "Are you ready?" clear as day. Not to mention the "1,2,3" just before the tower of doom was executed. I hate that spot solely because the person delivering the power bomb (Nikki in this case) usually sells on that mat instead of going for the cover. What, did you pull a muscle? What's next for Rusev? A feud with the Big Show? Sheamus makes sense from a progression standpoint, but you lose the patriotic aspect.
The Nature Boy Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Nikki selling made total sense. I imagine that powerbombing two people takes a sizable amount of strength so it's not out of the question for her to be exhausted from doing it.
The Green Meanie Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 What the FUCK was Mark Henry crying for? Because he let down JBL. 3
Big Fresh Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 - I can't stand the U.S.A. stuff. Just seems so corny. The Big Show/Mark Henry stuff, L.G. signing The National Anthem, the ring gear. All is just a big 'no thank you' from me. You're so edgy and cool. 6
Josh Mann Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Nearly 40yo smark potato me marked the fuck out at Dean Ambrose's reappearance. That should be an indicator of how well it worked. The ending to Cena-Brock was a necessary evil. They had to show progression from last month, but it's not time for Brock to lose yet. So a territory clusterfuck it is. Loved the match up to that point, tho. 1
Cristobal Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 The big positive of NoC is that there really wasn't a bad match on the card. I couldn't have cared much less for who won Jericho/Orton than I did, but they had a pretty good match. Sheamus/Cesaro was a standout for me. The big negative is that as far as advancing storylines and interesting character work, this did less than your average Raw. Then you have things like horrible commentary, (thank you King, for, during the tag match, bringing the discussion back to the match to stop JBL from slowly naming EVERY MOONDOG EVER,) then just idiotic moves like putting the country singers on commentary (wait, I forgot about Miz/Ziggler, that was a bad match. Note to Dolph, "showing ass" is a figure of speech...) And if anyone's getting a big build to Mania, it needs to be Ambrose. Unfortunately the crowd probably won't hijack it for him like they did Bryan, so we can pretty much assume it won't happen.
The Nature Boy Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Throwing the country singers on commentary for the Miz-Ziggler match just screamed "we agreed to let these guys on our show so we'll dump them here." The IC Title needs some serious rehabilitation.

DreamBroken Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Pretty good show. Hated to see the Usos reign come to an end. Thought the match picked up towards the end but wasn't on the level of the Usos/Wyatts classics. Sheamus/Cesaro was awesome as expected. I always mark for the Alpamare Waterslide, love that move and it always seems busted out on rare occasions. Tonight's was one of his best. Miz/Ziggler was just kind of there. Sandow trying to mimic Miz's every move when they are standing together is the best. Disappointed in Henry/Rusev, definitely expected more after such a big time build up only to end up the shortest match of the night. Thought Henry would at least pass out rather than just tapping or it could've used Rusev cheating or something. Loved Lilian's national anthem here, really good and gave a big time feel. Guessing Rusev/Sheamus is next for the US Title and should be pretty awesome. Enjoyed Jericho/Orton for the most part but kinda hated the finish. Felt like one of the most telegraphed dive into the RKO finishes of all time for sure. Also disappointed in going back to aj yet again with the divas title. Would've preferred Nikki win it to feud with Brie or at least go somewhere already with the endless aj/Paige stuff that has gone nowhere other than trading the title back and forth for months. Main event was awesome. Going in, I didn't know why so many people were thinking Cena would win the title back but great job making it seem unpredictable throughout as the AAs kept hitting. I think they could've done the same finish with Heyman hitting Cena to make a bit more sense then Rollins still trying to cash in but wasn't too bad. I too hope they go back to more than one Cell this year since there's multiple feuds for it. Definitely wanna see Ambrose/Rollins in the Cell alongside Cena/Lesnar (and Bella/Bella too.)
Buy Me a Burrito Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Watched show. Liked it more than I hated it. Wife was half-asleep on the couch when Rollins came out. "That guy is a prick" she said during his promo. Then she started drifting off to sleep. Tires screech. Cab arrives. She opens her eyes and sees Ambrose running to the ring. Chaos ensues. "KICK HIS FUCKING ASS AMBROSE" she belts out. Segment ends. She somehow just immediately calms down and starts drifting off to sleep. "Ambrose really is the only good thing on wrestling", she says. 2
peterien Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Enjoyed the show, didn't expect to watch all of it but kind of glad I did. Tag match was good fun, Cesaro/Sheamus was great just two hosses throwing bombs. Henry losing was kind of baffling. The IC title match was overshadowed by the awful commentary scenario. I thought Orton/Y2J was very good bar the ending you could see a mile off. Ambrose is the man, simple as. Will have to watch Cena/Lesnar again as I was very tired but my main problem with it was this; when Lesnars in the ring he brings a sense of reality to a match it goes from "these two guys are putting on a great match with moves and story telling" to "Lesnar is gonna kill this guy, look at all the strikes/suplexes/submissions" he almost brings a shoot fight element and to his credit Cena added to it last night but then Rollins comes out and just wrecks it and turns it back into typical WWE booking clusterfuckery, I don't think the finish hurts Brock but it just ruined a bit of the aura his matches obtain. Rollins should just retire tomorrow night before Lesnar shows up, he got to hit his finisher on the baddest motherfucker on the roster with no repercussions.

The Nature Boy Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I would pay a lot of money to see Brock Lesnar demolish Davey Richards.
Ramsey Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I would pay a lot of money to see Brock Lesnar demolish Davey Richards. Yeah, I might throw in a kidney as well as cash.
PuroresuFan Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 - I don't understand why WWE won't turn down/turn off the mics when doing close ups. Paige is on the turnbuckle with AJ and you can hear her ask "Are you ready?" clear as day. I believe she said to AJ, "Oh sh*t! Is she ready?" referring to Nikki not being ready before they set up the spot.
