On a normal basis, Impact Wrestling, records only 1.1 million viewers per episode. A few months ago, sparks began to fly after Spike TV dropped the mediocre-wrestling product. It’s not about talent, because Dixie Carter owns a multitude of talented wrestlers, some of them much better than WWE. It will be a turbulent period for TNA, until they can find a new home on television. In fact, going into TNA’s second-biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound for Glory, there werefinancial issues that arose regarding Wrestle-1. For a product that is struggling already, financial fracases that deal with a huge show is not the way to go. However, that could all be changing with the action of pen to paper. TNA President Dixie Carter is teasing that a major announcement is coming that could shake up Impact Wrestling as we know it. TNA President Dixie Carter has apparently told several people to expect a “major announcement” in the near future. While some may believe that the announcement will be a new television deal for the company, that may not be the case. There has been some claims that TNA has been negotiating with a talent that would reportedly “shock people.” It’s said that if it comes to fruition, the new signing would create a buzz around TNA, however no one seems to know who the talent is. We can confirm that the person is NOT CM Punk or Mick Foley. Jim Ross? Bill Goldberg? We know Mike Tenay‘s TNA contract is expiring in January of 2015. Chael Sonnen? Rey Mysterio? Let the speculation begin! As the report suggests, the speculation will now begin, and likely won’t end until the announcement is done. A few names can already be thrown out the window, such as CM Punk and Mick Foley. Jim Ross and Goldberg would be huge for the company, but in different situations. Ross could revolutionize the way TNA does their booking and talent development. There’s a different scenario regarding Goldberg. His interest in professional wrestling nearly died when he quit the industry. He was a beast for WCW, but he fizzled when he came to WWE. Would he own the same star-power and mystique he used to? That remains to be seen, assuming he signed a deal with Carter. On the flip side, Stone Cold Steve Austin thinks the WWE should steal a few superstars from TNA, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles just to name a few. Could it be the comeback of AJ Styles to TNA? Since his enormous success in the Independent scene, that seems very unlikely too. If Carter is telling the truth and it truly is a huge signing, that could change the entire business. From a bottom-dollar promotion that is desperate for ratings to a company that is competing with WWE, one person has the potential to make that change a possibility. There is no one in wrestling history, alive or dead, who will help TNA at this point or any other point in the last 5 years. It's madness for anyone to think otherwise. Absolute madness. Yeah, I'm sure signing Rey Mysterio, Chael Sonnen, or Jim Ross is going to bring hordes of viewers to Velocity or whatever podunk network they latch onto. But given TNA's penchant for signing newly released WWE Talent, the answer is simple. TNA SIGNED WILLIE MACK! Personally, I think Daniel Bryan's drawing power is being way overestimated.
