Cristobal
Short question: Does anyone know of a match where someone submitted to a figure four when they put it on, but got turned over and had the pressure reversed? If they did, it would be stupid, because he just has to pull his legs free. All they're being held down by is the opponent's legs.
Big Fresh
God, Ambrose attacking Cena for getting in his way is going to absolutely blow the roof off (wherever they are when it happens). I said before this had the potential to be the biggest pop of the year. And piggybacking off that, I honestly think they'll put Ambrose over Cena. I know, I know, that's probably nuts. But I just have that guy feeling. Cena vs. Orton will be worth sitting through if that means we get Cena vs. Ambrose and Ambrose vs. Rollins in the Cell. Besides, I liked a lot of the Cena/Orton matches.
cool arrow
Cena and Orton almost always have good matches, but that's not the point. Ideally, both of them should be in the ECW Terry Funk role at this point.
Zakk_Sabbath
If Brock drops the title before 31, then Ambrose should win the Rumble-- I think Ambrose/Cena could be this younger generations Austin/Michaels. Don't get me wrong, I think Reigns is fantastic, but right now, he's being booked with the worst components of Cena (forcing him down fans throats) and Diesel (the guy but not *really* the guy). This injury might be the best thing that happened to him. Same goes for Bryan-- he deserved so much better as a post WM feud than Kane. Which is not a knock on Kane, it's more of a knock on a) the booking and b) how they've devalued his character over the last several years. kafkonia
WCW Warrior was actually the result of a Ted Turner-funded black ops project to clone the original Warrior (Kerry, obviously) from the remains of Kerry's amputated foot, which Turner operatives stole from the scene of the accident. Renegade was the first test run.
Niners Fan in CT
Remember where we thought the Wyatts, Cesaro, and The Shield were headed following WrestleMania? Six months later, how close are we to having ANY of that happen? Maybe Ambrose but I have my doubts..
Spontaneous
Yeah, it's not WWE isn't booked poorly and we will have the grand return of Roman Reigns by January, to win he Rumble and win the belt at Wrestlemania, no matter what else is going on. Actually saw it at an indy show a few months ago in a match between Gary Jackson and Tony Kozina. Kozina tapped to a figure-four reversal and that was the first time I'd ever seen that happen. Babylonianfrost
All of the eternal "Cena always wins/Cena's been on top too long" debate has me legitimately wondering: was there ever any backlash to Sammartino holding the WWWF belt and headlining for basically fourteen years or to Thesz death-gripping the NWA title so often between 1949 and 1969 or any eternal territory runs for any wrestler (Lawler in Memphis, Flair in the Carolinas, Blassie in California, etc.)? When did the argument for longevity morph into an argument against same? Gagne? And why does everyone forget that - transitional champs notwithstanding - W/WWF/E has usually been a monster face champ territory almost from the onset? Bruno got pinned very few times in the WWF between 1963 and 1977 (cleanly just once, though I guess he may have gotten pinned in Japan for Baba...?). I'm not certain that Backlund ever ate a clean loss in the fed in six years outside of the Inoki strangeness. Hogan's protection is well-documented. Until the steroid/sex scandals led to Vince panicking, there was a near-thirty year history of (with few exceptions) strong faces guzzling heels. For most stretches of time, the WWF wasn't about the chase; it was about the face champ knocking off challengers (I actually Heyman made that point on...the Austin podcast?). The first truly dominant heel champion that they had was Yokozuna. SuperCena isn't really that much of an aberration by any stretch: he moves the merch and he seems to sell tickets. cool arrow
I imagine if Bruno were on tv for 3-5 hours every week (besides a PPV every month) folks probably would've gotten sick of him too.
Niners Fan in CT
Yeah Cena is definitely in line with what WWE has always been about but I think the bigger issue is that he is overexposed. That goes for guys like Orton and Kane too. They've been on TV every week for over a decade, sometimes two and three times a week, and they cut the same types of promos and wrestle the same people over and over. WWE didn't have to keep things fresh in the days when Hogan would have very few televised title defenses, etc. I don't think they have to kill the model but every time there's an opportunity to do something different with Cena whether it's the fired angle with Nexus or Cena's potential "losing streak" (The Rock, Tensai, should have been Lesnar...) or even now following SummerSlam... they rush right through it and reset to THE CHAMP IS HEEAAAARRRAGGHH

This, and the fact that Cena is booked completely different than Bruno/Backlund/Hogan...hence the 15 championship losses.

Who really wants to see him in 2014? He should have retired after finally destroying Taker because otherwise they get the urge to push him to the top every year. He's ok as HHH's flunkie, but as a headliner...yeah that should have been done with a decade ago
