cool arrow Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I'm not going to post it here but there's a recent pic of Ox Baker floating around and he's looking... not good at all.
Pete Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Someone claiming to be his daughter is trying to raise funds for funeral arrangements. I really hope that's not true for a variety of reasons.
Dolfan in NYC Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Youtube commenters are fucking weird: 1
cool arrow Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 For Youtube, that's actually fairly logical.
DouglasC Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I've learned not to even try reading youtube comments. I find it makes me await the Vogon highway construction project too much. ObPhoto: 3
MADCAP Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 RIP to Hershey's Golden Almond. The Golden Almond is alive and well bubba... 1
PetrolCB Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Luke Wilson should play Austin Idol in the Memphis wrestling movie that'll never be made. 2
Dre013 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Luke Wilson should play Austin Idol in the Memphis wrestling movie that'll never be made. Wow, that's fantastic...kudos
HumanChessgame Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 One of the recent WWE documentaries had this map pop up and I thought to track it down today- I wonder if there's any chance WWE will ever put together a Memphis wrestling documentary. Doesn't Lawler have a lot of their tape library? If not a feature, it would be cool to see a doc with mini chapters each highlighting various prominent territories that were popular over the years. Getting rights to such a thing would probably be a mess though. 2
cool arrow Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 That CWA belt is fugly. Looks like a license plate. As far as I'm concerned, the only uglier belt in the territorial era was the PNW championship. Sadly, this is the only picture of it I could find.
NWABCS Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I always thought the "devil's advocate" gimmick could have made some real money. 5
odessasteps Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I like how the historical territories map says "wwe" and doesnt list vince sr as the promoter. 1

Getting rights to such a thing would probably be a mess though. You'd think they'd call WWE WWWF at least if they still didn't want to piss of the panda. As far as a Mempho Doc, I've heard about Memphis Heat. I haven't seen it, but I think I heard positive reviews of it:
odessasteps Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Memphis heat was good, but only went up to when jimmy hart jumped to wwf.
Stosh Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Isn't the the ownership of who actually owns the Memphis footage in great debate? Lawler and Jarrett did sell the promotion under all kinds of carny shady stuff, then they sold it again. There is some real legal issues there.
Hooks Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I always thought the "devil's advocate" gimmick could have made some real money. The guy could talk, was good in the ring, AND looked like this. It's baffling that he never became a star. 2

BurningBeard Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 O'Haire's shitty attitude did him no favours. Why the fuck did they put Piper with him if he could talk? He defo had star written all over him though Anyway, how awesome is this 4
PetrolCB Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 He really looks like ECW-era Test (felt weird typing that) in that first photo. Here's a what-if, had he still been a wrestler then (maybe he was[?]), what if they brought back O'Haire in that role during the ECW reboot, how well would it have worked?
