Only Barry Windham's Texas ancestry and the spirit of the Mulligan family allows him to survive the classic wrasslin blunder of headbutting a black man.

I love the "Whoops, I just touched Pez's crotch on national television...." spot during the Sunset Flip finish.

Well Hash/Otsuka vs. Misawa/Ogawa was boss. It's super duper close to a WAR vs. NJPW match; I forgot that there was any kind of NOAH vs. Zero-1 feud (I mean this is from '01 for fuck's sake). Why they didn't put Ikeda, then NOAH, in instead of fucking Ogawa is a disappointment given his history with Otsuka but I can see why they didn't. He would be a guy they're trying to build up into a weak link, and who better as the weak link than Misawa's greasy little trainee Ogawa? As soon as they jump in the ring Otsuka wants Misawa's ass to himself but he gets Ogawa instead, who gets stomped. When Hash tags in he obliterates the little bastard immediately with a vicious chop to the neck, and it's on from there (later on, Ogawa eye-pokes Hash and gets murdered by a spinning backhand chop that would disconnect your jaw). Right in the middle Otsuka gets in the ring with Hash and five of the NOAH guys get on the apron and it's your classic riot atmosphere. Everyone in the crowd seems to be pro-NOAH, but when the double-teams start from Ogawa and Misawa you can hear a smattering of boos from the crowd (because Zero-1 doesn't play that shit, they just save the opponent when in danger). Hash is at his gigantic best here, going head-to-head against an aged but dangerous Misawa, who you forget just how hard his elbows can be. Hash is holding his mouth at one point and the ones Otsuka takes towards the end... woof. And of course Misawa takes a bunch of neck damage which might be hard for one to watch but the heat is what this is about and it's off the charts. Dunno what else was in this little feud but I'll watch every match from it.

EDIT: The only other one I found is Hash/Yasuda vs. Honda (yay!) and Inoue (huh?). But I also found a 43 minute match between Hash/UFO Ogawa vs. Mutoh and Kawada. If anyone can give me any info about these and other weird Zero-1 interpromotional matches from back then, post the info here.

EDIT II: Otsuka gives Misawa the Giant Swing in the above match too. If Cesaro had only been older then...

Does anyone know the date, or have the match with Hashimoto vs. Kanemura in Zero-1?  It was basically a squash, as Hashimoto kicked the ever-loving piss out of Kanemura until the ref called for stoppage. Been searching for it for awhile but I haven't had any luck.

If it's the barbed wire Fuyuki tribute match you're talking about, that's 5/5/03, and technically a WEW show. I've never seen the other one but according to BAHU, cool arrow is right. That reminded me of the matches where Hash kicks the everloving shit out of Tanaka, too.
