Randy
France scored twice in the first half. Uh oh.
Cristobal
Ukraine starts off the 2nd half by getting a man sent off, and then gives France the aggregate lead in the 74th with an own goal.
ReiseReise
Bad day for Scandinavia. It took me ages to come to terms with Ronaldo and overlook his antics and bs, then he not only eliminates my second favourite team singlehandely in FIFA 13 pace rush fashion, he also pulls a "YOU ARE STAYING HERE!" gesture against a mostly fair opposition. I know we are a wrestling board and 90 % here are gonna be "AWESOME" and will be posting videos and shit, but in combination with all the sportsmanship conduct stuff going on I really want him to receive a one or two game ban for the finals.
SturmCRF
Yeah, I'm with you, Ronaldo can be as phenomenal a footballer as he likes, he's still a loathsome little shitbollock.

cubbymark
Is anyone going to stay up late and hope for a Kiwi miracle against Mexico?
cubbymark
Peralta has two goals. for México in just under half hour. Poor, poor Kiwis down 7-1 in aggregate.
cubbymark
Make it 8-1, Peralta with a hat trick. 8 goals vs New Zealand, only 7 in the hexagonal. Poor Kiwis can't even make a gift penalty.
sabremike
I'm looking on the bright side: CONCACAF should be keeping it's 3 and a half spots for WC 2018 after this.
cubbymark
9-3 Mexico on aggregate. For competitive balance, do the playoffs rotate? Because CONCACAF vs CONMEBOL would have given us Mexico/Uruguay this year, which is on par with Portugal/Sweden in terms of one big team missing out. New Zealand/Jordan would have been competitive. But credit to the Kiwi fans who gave it their all tonight.
RIPPA
For 2014 - FIFA held a draw (at the start of qualification) to determine the match-ups which was the first time they did that. One would assume they will do that going forward but this is FIFA we are talking about
Tele-Viper
Sweden got hosed. Fuck Ronaldo!

Tele-Viper
Checked out the draw simulator. Did four draws and boy did the USA get hosed in each one: Brazil, Ivory Coast, USA, England Uruguay, USA, Nigeria, Netherlands Spain, Ghana, USA, Netherlands Germany, USA, Chile, Italy. Yikes! Here's hoping we draw something more our speed like Switzerland, Algeria, Bosnia or something like that...
RIPPA
I think its a virtual certainty that the US draw is going to brutal. Most places are naming them the Top Team in Their Pot (I would think it is Japan but whatever) so basically every "Group of Death" scenario involves the US. (Though there are probably going to be multiple ones this year) The "easiest" draw I have gotten so far is Colombia, US, France, Croatia Of course - when I run the sim, it loves, LOVES, to put the US with Germany
Cristobal
I ran the draw once and got Spain, US, Ecuador, England.
Death From Above
I managed to get Switzerland, USA, Cameroon, Russia. Which seems about as gentle as it could get though is still a tough group to call. That draw also had a ludicrous Group A: Brazil, Mexico, France, England. RIPPA
Kickoff Times for all the World Cup Matches For EST - the times are pretty fantastic. Though I do admit that 3 PM start times are a little rough for me because I leave work at 4 PM. ReiseReise
Too lazy and involved with other things, therefore I just used the drawing simulator:A: Brazil, Australia, Nigeria, RussiaB: Argentina, USA, Ivory Coast, Bosnia-HerzegovinaC: Uruguay, Korea Republic, France, ItalyD: Switzerland, Japan, Chile, PortugalE: Germany, Mexico, Ecuador, EnglandF: Colombia, Iran, Ghana, NetherlandsG: Spain, Costa Rica, Cameroon, CroatiaH: Belgium, Honduras, Algeria, GreeceSeems plausible, ridiculously unbalanced as draws always are... RIPPA
Well the new "easiest" US group I got was Switzerland, US, Ghana and Greece
RIPPA
Oh BTW - technically only Pot 1 is confirmed. FIFA could throw a curveball and do some other wacky pairing but the ones used in the simulator seem to be the consensus way the pots will be done. France was put in Pot 3 since it was the lowest seeded UEFA team
muhammedboehm
Rippa or someone with more knowledge of FIFA how would you rank the teams in each of the pots?
ReiseReise
Netherlands in POT 4 aswell as Italy make hardly any sense to me. With the FIFA Rankings obviously being the base for the seeds in pot 1, what is the base for the other pots? EDIT: The confeds of course, but why would France be in #2.
RIPPA
France being moved was because UEFA had an extra team and they are the lowest ranked UEFA based on the FIFA rankings
