JULY WRESTLING DISCUSSION

Recommended Posts

No, I think people were more annoyed with Cornette suggesting that Russo should die (Replying to Russo saying "Life's too short" Cornette tweeted some people's "Weren't short enough").  It's enough to have silly feud and hate somebody over wrestling, but to suggest he should basically die because you disagree with someone paints you as shit.  It's not a matter of "caring" or "jumping on a Russo bandwagon", it's about being an adult and not suggesting somebody should be dead because you've disagreed with him over pro wrestling-related matters in the past.

BTW, in the 'Always A Shitty Lining to an Ian Rotten Story' news

Multiple reports have surfaced that indicate Ian Rotten physically and verbally assaulted a pair of pre-teen children during the main event of the EPW event held at Jammerz in Clarksville, Indiana on July 24th..

According to a Facebook post from the mother, " One of the fights got in the audience, which we knew was a possibility. My kids moved and the fight went the way they moved, they moved again. My daughter, who is 11, got scared and was coming to me. Then, John Williams...AKA Ian Rotten bumped into Arianna. He proceeded to say to her, "You fucking pushing me?!?!?!", and PUSHED MY DAUGHTER! My son walks up, Ariez is 9, and this same mother fucker, bent down to get in his face and say, "You wanna hit me? Hit me then you little BITCH!" And proceeded to PUSH MY 9 YEAR OLD CHILD!"

After the incident, the mother attempted to discuss the situation with management and was approached by Rotten's teenage son who continued the verbal assault by informing the mother that "She should have moved. She was told to move"  When the mother informed Rotten's son that she would be notifying the Police, he then got directly in her face and shouted " You stupid fucking bitch! The little bitch should have fucking moved!"  The mother contacted local Police, who agreed that the incident "went too far".

Ian Rotten responds!

Rotten stated that "During my match Thursday night when in the ringside area, not in the crowd, I felt a forearm to my lower back with a push from behind. At this point I turned around and reacted to it, told the person not to push me and pushed the person back. Honestly and truthfully I did not realize that it was a young girl."

He went on to justify his actions by stating he was unsure if the 11 year old girl had a weapon and recited an incident in which he was "stabbed by a 70 +year old woman in Texas" . He also stated the profanity laced verbal altercation with the 9 year old boy was justified stating " that on my part was purely interaction with him and I will not apologize for doing my job".

In his apology, he offered no explanation for his son's profanity laced verbal assault directed at the mother, simply stating that his son "was a man" and that he would " talk to him" about the incident.

He's got a point: what if that 11 year old girl had a weapon?!  Like some jacks...or a sharpened Barbie doll.

But, at least his son "is a man", so that's good news.

(This is from ewrestling, btw, but I can't link it because stuff)

If you're talking about the twitter exchange with Cornette, then yes. Russo comes across as a rational person who's willing to mend bridges and Cornette comes off as either a maniac who needs therapy or a guy who knows that part of his current gimmick is to never stop wishing death on the guy and isn't gonna kill one of his golden geese gimmicks to work the "smarts".

I thought it was funny. It was not like he even sought him out, some douche bag got a burr in their butt and sought him out.

Rotten is a piece of shit, but naming a kid like that should be child abuse.

Was that twitter back and forth this month? it's been a long month.

It has felt like six months.

In extremely important news

Former WCW star Buff Bagwell has signed on to shoot a porn movie for Vivid Video. TMZ reports that his wife Judy was there to sign the deal with Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch. Bagwell recently appeared on the Showtime reality series "Gigolos."
He's also a real life Gigolo, according to TMZ. Several months ago he signed on with Cowboys4Angels, an "escort" service that provides companionship for women.

I hope he does his little dance after he's...ahem...finished.

Right? That's the weirdest thing I'm taking away from this.

"TMZ reports that his wife Judy was there to sign the deal with Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch"

"You mean his mom Judy? ... OH MY GOD NO!!

Jim Cornette was being flippant to an insincere, condescending douchebag.

I posted this over in the video game section but there isn't much traffic there.

5 Star Wrestling.

This is funny (the names used) and genius (the limb targeting system).

So all of you need to watch this because it is some good stuff. Only for PS3 dudes though. I would want this game.

Being calm is the oldest trick in the book. We have become a culture that glorifies apathy. That actually caring is a sin.

Russo's a hipster? Jeezus, he just gets worse and worse.

I always thought Buff was a little too close with his mom. I guess Norman Bates was right, "A boy's best friend is his mother."
