JULY WRESTLING DISCUSSION

Recommended Posts

About time this steered back to Walmart talk. The guy who collects the carts at my local Walmart looks quite demented. In the winter when it was below zero he wore a ski mask with his big thick glasses over the ski mask. It was really something to see.

was Vic Grimes' Key character ever on RAW? Wikipedia says his debut was on a July 1999 episode (forget the exact date, just watched it though) and he's nowhere on the show. I thought maybe he'd come out for the Droz/Albert versus Venis/Godfather street fight tag match, but nope, nothing. I'm just curious to see how Attitude Era WWF handled a drug dealer character on television - if it even made it to TV.

I figured it was just Ed Leslie stopping by for a visit.

"WWE is pleased to welcome back Ed Leslie AKA Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. He will be working under the IT security department  installing protocol analyzers or "packet sniffers". He calls it his specialty."

Besides Hunter and Vince, who has the power to fire someone? Seems odd either of them would fire and rehire so quickly

That goon Mark on Total Divas seem to have some clap.

I sure hope "clap" is autocorrect for "clout"

I am on my iPhone after all.

I don't remember Grimes being on Raw but I definitely saw him in a six-man with Droz and Albert on one of the C-shows.  (Velocity, maybe?)

He had a very cool finisher, basically an Iconoclasm, only not off the ropes.

I could've sworn that Grimes did a run in on Raw and he slipped and fell off the top rope, it was one of his only, if not the only, appearance he had.

Your memory is correct. He was wearing wedding shoes because he couldn't find any other white shoes. That lead to him losing his balance on the top rope.

Maybe it was someone else though.

SIAP...I haven't read through all 15 pages.

- The Undisputed Wrestling Show on AngryMarks.com recently spoke with Jim Cornette and he had some choice words for members of the TNA creative team, as seen below:

TNA Director of Creative Writing David Lagana:
"It's like they are on f***ing acid. I know Dave Lagana, I like Dave Lagana, would never let him close to the f***ing book. He doesn't know how to book wrestling because the only experience he had was booking 'sports entertainment.'"

TNA Vice President of Television Production and Director of Talent Relations John Gaburick:
"The f***ing goof they hired to be the head of their creative the Big John character(Gaburick) was an out of work friend of Kevin Dunn's who gave a pity job to to produce Tough Enough. He's never booked a f***ing fart after a dinner at Taco Bell."

TNA Creative Writer Matt Conway:
"Matt Conway is the guy who Dixie (Carter) put on the creative team when it was Jeff (Jarrett) and Dutch (Mantel) and (Vince) Russo, I'm sorry I threw up a little in my mouth, because they weren't telling her what was going on. So she took some stooge who worked in the office, he's a fine kid, but he don't know s*** from apple butter about how to f***ing book wrestling. She put him on the creative team so he could stooge to her about what they were talking about behind her back."

TNA Ring Announcer and member of creative team Christy Hemme:
"I can't say this without laughing out loud! They just put Christy Hemme on the f***ing booking team! What the f***, she couldn't book Lassie at a pet shop! She's a nice girl, but what the f***!"

The state of wrestling today:
"If I stop to dwell on the state of wrestling today, it was literally making me an insane person. That is why I just ignore it for the most part. If you care about the business and if you want to see the business succeed, the things that people do that are the people who are in charge will drive you insane."

I love how every one of those Corny quotes boils down to:

"Don't get me wrong.  He's a great guy.  I love him to death.  He's just the stupidest fucking piece of shit that I every met who should be put down like a rabid skunk.  I'm doing 4th of July BBQ with him and Becky and the kids.  Such a nice family.  But filled with the stupidest cunts, you know.  Good people.  Fucking stupid good people."

Key jumps Godfather in the middle of the match during the brawling in the crowd. Gets escorted out by Attitude Era Security Guy.

July 26, fyi
